Comella, Michael - Michael A. Comella, 81, of Texas, died September 29, 2003. He was predeceased by his brothers Phil Comella and Edward Comella, and sister, Josephine Greenwald, and by his parents. He leaves behind his wife, Vernice, son Michael Jr. and two grandsons, and brothers, George J. and Anthony, and several nieces and nephews. A World War II veteran, he received many medals and ribbons. He was involved in the February 14, 1943 Saint Valentine's Massacre. Of the 250-man unit only 26 survived. He also landed on Omaha Beach in Normandy on June 6, 1943. He joined the National Guard, the Army Reserves, and the 420 Engineer Brigade after being discharged from the Army in 1945. He worked as a patrol officer for the Huntsville (Texas) Police Department for 26 years, and he was a volunteer fireman for 27 years.

Durfee, Frederick - Frederick G. Durfee, 84, died September 16, 2003 at St. Mary's Medical Center, Langhorne, PA. Fred was born in Newark, son of Gertrude and James Durfee. He graduated from St. Lawrence University in New York in 1950 with a Master's degree in Physics and Chemistry. He was employed at RCA Labs in Princeton NJ as a research chemist for many years. Fred attended Temple University, Philadelphia, PA and graduated in 1974 with a Master's degree in Education. He taught 7th grade math at William Penn Junior High School, Pennsbury School District, Levittown, PA for seven years. He served during WWII in the US Navy on active duty and retired from the Naval Reserves at the rank of Commander. He was a former Master of the F&AM, Mercer Lodge in Trenton, NJ. Fred is survived by his wife of 54 years, Jane (Hickok) Durfee; children James (Marleen) Durfee of Richmond, VA, Dr. Sharon (James) Durfee Amato of Evanston, IL; grandchildren, Lindsey and Lauren Durfee, Alexander, Victoria, Christian and Nicholas Amato. He is survived by his brother Nelson (Margaret) Durfee of Newark, sister-in-law Marion Durfee, and nieces and nephews. Fred was predeceased by his brother Kenneth. Friends are invited to his graveside service on Saturday, October 18, at 2 p.m. at the Newark Cemetery on North Main Street.

Johnson, Diane - Diane Lynn Johnson, 61, of Newark, died September 26, 2003 at Newark Hospital after a long illness. Diane was born February 17, 1942 in Newark, daughter of the late Floyd and Virginia (Morley) Lester. She attended the Park Presbyterian Church. She enjoyed gardening, camping and most of all her family. She is survived by her companion of 22 years, Earl Leisenring; daughter Jamie Austin and friend Ron Pullin; sons Steven Krebbeks and his friend Nancy Sharrow; and Jeffrey Krebbeks, all of Newark; grandsons Phillip and Matthew; granddaughter Amanda; brothers Ronald (Olga) Lester of Florida, Roger (Lea) Lester of Sodus; several nieces and nephews. Diane was predeceased by her sister Nancy and great-granddaughter Hali. Interment, East Newark Cemetery.

MacClurg, Herbert - Herbert T. MacClurg, 66, of Lyons, died September 27, 2003, after an extended illness. Herbert was born June 30, 1937, in Shanghai, China, a son of the late Revs. Herbert D. and Esther Schuldt MacClurg.He was in the Army from 1956 to 1962, and belonged to American Legion Post 227 in Lyons. He was an avid drag racer at Spencer Speedway and the former King's Drag Strip in South Butler (1960's and 1970's). He was employed at Heluva Good Cheese in Sodus as a driver and salesman. Interment in Baptist Rual Cemetery in Sodus. Herbert is survived by his wife, Annette Chamoulaud MacClurg, whom he married while in France; four children, Yvonne (Jack) Fitzpatrick of Lyons, Andre (Paula) of Newark, Marcel of Lyons, and Michelle (Timmy, Sr.) McDonald of Lyons; seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; a sister, Gracie Cardwell of Arizona; several cousins. He was predeceased by his parents; and granddaughter, Elizabeth MacClurg.

Brown, Margaret - Margaret Brown, 89, of Marion, died September 30, 2003. She is survived by her son, Arthur L. (Laura) Brown of Palmyra; daughter, Jeanette Hubright of Marion; brothers John Hotel of Fairville, Edward (Shirley) Hotel of Newark, Abraham (Helen) Hotel of Hoffmeister; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Arthur R. Brown.

Zappia, Eleanor S. - Eleanor S. Zappia, 82, of Geneva, died September 20, 2003 at the House of John in Clifton Springs. Eleanor was born April 9, 1921 the daughter of the late Edward and Louise Cirone Smaldone. She was an owner/operator of a public accounting practice, and for years she was the accountant/office manager at D'Amico Chrysler-Dodge. Eleanor was a member of the Geneva Women's Club, the Rosary Society, St. Anthony's Society, the Geneva Business and Professional Women's Association, Zonta International, the Catholic Daughters of America and a member of St. Stephen's Church. She was a volunteer at Geneva General Hospital, and in 1995 was recognized as the Volunteer of the Year for the American Red Cross. She was also a former member of the White Springs Fire Department Women's Auxiliary and the American Legion Post 396 Ladies Auxiliary. She is survived by her son, John (Linda) Zappia of Canandaigua and Gerard 'Jerry' (Judith) Zappia of Newark; a daughter, Mary Zappia-Cowles of Canandaigua; a brother, Edward (Nancy) Smaldone of Geneva; six grandchildren; nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, John D. Zappia; brother, Henry and her sister, Mary. Interment in Glenwood Cemetery in Geneva.

Augustave, Renee Maya - Renee Maya Augustave, age 6, died September 18, 2003 after a courageous battle with a cancerous brain tumor. Renee was born April 14, 1997 in Sodus, daughter of Wilson and Monica Augustave. She was diagnosed with brain stem glioma in February 2003. She was a patient at Strong Memorial Hospital. In June, Renee was granted a wish by The Make-A- Wish Foundation for her and her family to travel to Walt Disney World in Florida. Renee graduated from kindergarten at Perkins School in Neawrk. She is survived by her parents; sisters, Nicola, Charles, Charmaine and Juliane; maternal grandparents, Jurlene Allen of Newark and Leroy Williams, Sr. of Florida; maternal great-grandmother, Ivey Penerton of Ohio; paternal grandparents, Julianie Augustave and Luc Jonasaint, both of Florida; aunts, Morgan Overstreet, Etude St. Remy, Judith Felder, Gina Overstreet and Latasha/Laquite Freeney; uncles, McArthur Overstreet and Leroy Williams Jr.; godparents, Kathy Castania and Peter Debes, many cousins; other family members and friends.

Carmer, Nell - Nell S. Carmer, 81, of Newark, died September 21, 2003 at DeMay Living Center. Nell was born Jan. 26, 1922, in Decatur, Alabama, to Samuel and Nell Surratt. She had lived in Clyde for more than 40 years, and had also lived in Newark. She is survived by two daughters, Sarah (Bernard) VanHooft of Lyons and Constance Mills of Rome; one brother, Samuel Surratt of Zephyrhills, FL; and two grandchildren. She was predeceased in 1977 by her husband, John Carmer, Jr. Interment in the Newark Cemetery on North Main Street.

Foss, Arlene - Arlene E. Foss, 84, formerly of Phelps, died September 20, 2003 at Newark Hospital. Friends called at the Eacker Funeral Home, 47 Main St. in Phelps. A Mass of Christian Burial was held at St. Francis Church in Phelps. Burial was in St. Francis Cemetery. Friends may contribute to the Phelps Ambulance Fund. Arlene was born Nov. 10, 1918, in Clifton Springs. She was a member of St. Francis Church and had worked part-time for the Phelps-Clifton Springs School District. She is survived by her daughter, Marlene Colarocco, of Geneva; son, Joseph Foss of Geneva; one grandson; three great-grandchildren; and sister, Erma Milliman of Waterloo. She was predeceased in 1997 by her husband, Raymond; her sister, Louise; and brothers, Peter and Charles. Interment in Elmwood Cemetery.

Warren, Mark L. - Mark L. 'Bear' Warren, 51, of Wolcott, died September 15, 2003. He is survived by his fiancee, Patricia Allen; six step-children, Randy Allen, Timothy Allen, Scott Allen, James Roberts, Heath Hernandez, and Kelly Hernandez; several grandsons; sister, Diane (Robert) Burgess of Rochester; niece, Robin (William) Evans of TX; Half sister, Louise. Interment in North Wolcott Cemetery.

Johns, Karen - Karen Johns, 54, of Lyons, died September 14, 2003 at St. Mary's Hospice Center in Rochester. Karen was born in Lyons, on December 6, 1948, a daughter to Alvin and Evelyn Oaks Shuler. As a life long area resident she was employed as the court clerk for the Town of Lyons. Surviving are her husband Paul R. Johns; two brothers, Richard (Hennie) Shuler of Newark, and Robert Shuler of California: aunts and uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her parents, and brother, David Shuler. Interment in the Rural Cemetery in Lyons.

Galens, William H.- William H. Galens, 68, died September 7, 2003 at Clifton Springs hospital after a battle with cancer. Bill was born April 30, 1935 in Clifton Springs to the late John and Emma Galens. He graduated from Clifton Springs High School. He worked for 30 years at Westplex until he retired. Throughout his retirement Bill kept busy as a bus monitor for Marcus Whitman School District, working part-time at Wal-Mart in Geneva and operating his own floral business as Poppy's Gardens. He was an assistant Scoutmaster for Troop 66 in Gorham, a fireman in the Town of Hopewell. He is survived by his wife, Myrna; sons, Allen (Tracy) Galens, Shawn Galens and Randy (Nancy) Galens; daughters, Cindy Bagley, Shirley (Glenn) Woodbury and Sherri Galens; 11 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; brothers, Leon, Robert, Charles, Francis Galens; sisters, Ruth Gardner, Helen Crowley, Regina (Leo) Krolak and Rosalie Galens; 53 nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brothers, Lewis and Jack, sister Alma DeWilde.

Gary P. Fuller, Thomas G. Fuller.Gary P. Fuller (Sept. 2, 1937 - Oct. 21, 2002) and Thomas G. Fuller, (Nov. 3, 1935 - June 4, 2003). A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, Nov. 1, 2003 at 2 p.m. at the North Rose United Methodist Church. Gary and Thomas are both survived by sister, Sharon( Daniel) Stern of Hilton, Aunt and Uncle Jack and Marge Westfall, nieces and nephews. Gary is survived by three children: Terry of California, Kari of Connecticut, Laura of Connecticut; two grandchildren.

McCue, Jane - Jane (Kocher) McCue, formerly of Newark, died September 14, 2003 in Pinehurst, NC. She is survived by her husband, Edward McCue, formerly of Newark; son, Col. Edward M. McCue; daughter-in-law, Lt. Col. Arlene McCue; granddaughter, Olivia Erin, all of Okinawa, Japan; daughter, Rea McCue of St. Louis; brother, Jack Kocher of California; brother-in-law, John (Donna) McCue of Newark; nieces and nephews.

Wood, Bruce F. - Bruce F. Wood, 69, of Williamson, died September 16, 2003. He was a Navy veteran, Eastman Kodak retiree, member of Pultneyville Reformed Church, Williamson American Legion Post #394 and Williamson Orphix fraternity. He is survived by his wife Irene (VandenBout); sons Scott Wood of Williamson, Todd (Nancy) Wood of Williamson; several grandchildren; his mother, Adah Wood of Lyons; sisters, Lucille (Edmund) Smith of Camillus; Jean (Edward) Doescher of Loveland, CO; Barbara (William) Stanton of Williamson; nieces, nephews and friends. He was predeceased by his father Frank W. Wood. Interment is in the East Palmyra Cemetery.

Packard, Karen F. - Karen F. (VanMarter) Packard, 41, of Macedon, died September 15, 2003 of cancer. She is survived by her husband, David; children, Heather VanMarter, Nicholas Packard; step-son, Christopher Packard; mother, Norine B. Holcomb, Ruth M. - Ruth M. Holcomb, 68, of Williamson, died September 21, 2003 at Pines of Peace in Ontario. She was predeceased by her husband of 45 years, Donald; daughter, Brenda; sister, Mildred LaForce and brothers, Robert Terry and Martin Terry, Jr. She is survived by her five children: Ida (Duane) Steurrys of Ontario, Donald Jr. (Patricia) Holcomb, Alec Holcomb, Brian (Tracie) Holcomb all of Williamson, Lynn (Nancy) Marone of Marion; 13 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; sisters, Theresa Cirtwell of OH, Lucille (James) Premo of Marion and Shirley Wood of Massena; brothers, David (Theresa) Terry of Lyons and Raymond (Rose Ann) Terry of Wolcott; mother-in-law, Beatrice Holcomb; several cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.

Lovelady, Gussie - Gussie C. Lovelady, 63, of Newark, died September 23, 2003 at DeMay Living Center. Gussie was born June 20, 1940 in Schenectady, to Jessie and Martha Scott Collins. She was a member of the True Full Gospel Missionary Baptist Church in East Williamson. Gussie is survived by her children: Christopher Gibson of Schenectady; Ivan (Dorothy) Faulks of Marion; Quinon (Kathlean) Collins of Palmyra; Cathy Collins of Newark; and Andrew Turner of Newark; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; four brothers, Robert (Pinky) Collins of California, James Collins, James Scott, Jr. of Orlando, FL, and Jerome Collins of Delaware; two sisters, Maxie Daniels of Orlando, and Fadie Mae Smith of Lyons; nieces, nephews and friends. Interment in East Newark Cemetery.

Herman, Connie - Concetta (Connie) A. Herman, 85, of Newark, died September 24, 2003. She was a nurses's aide at Rochester and Genesee Hospitals. She is survived by her husband, Albert; daughter, Alberta (Alfred) Dion; two grandsons, Mario E. (Kim) Herman, Robert Mange; one great-granddaughter, step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren; two sisters, Viola Trofa and Gloria Natile; sister-in-law, Ruth (Ken) Cousineau; nephew Ken Cousineau, Jr. She was predeceased by sons Mario Herman and Robert Purtell.

Krause, Lora L. - Lora Lee (Bertino) Krause, 36, died Saturday, September 13, 2003 at University Hospital in Syracuse, New York as a result of an automobile accident. Lora was born the daughter of David and Bonnie (Day) Bertino on October 15, 1966 in Newark. She graduated from Newark High School in 1984. She worked for G.W. Lisk in Clifton Springs in the accounting office. Lora enjoyed the outdoors, boating, jogging, water skiing, snowmobiling and horseback riding. Lora will be missed by her loving husband, Mark Krause; parents, David and Bonnie Bertino both of Newark; maternal grandmother, Alice Day; father and mother-in-law, Charles Sr. and Betty Krause; brothers-in-law, Scott Williams, Daniel (Karen) Krause both of Newark and Charles Butch Krause Jr. of Lyons; aunts, Sandra (Richard) Rice and Linda (John) Donaldson; niece, Mallory Williams; nephew, Shawn Krause; great- niece, Elizabeth Krause. Lora was predeceased by her sister, Rebecca 'Becky' Williams, on August 22, 2003 as a result of an automobile accident.

Oberst Loretta L. - Loretta (Leeuwen) Oberst, 60, died September 9, 2003 at her home in Sayler Park, Ohio after battling Multiple Myeloma since 1999. Loretta (Lori) was born November 17, 1942 in Clifton Springs, to the late Albert and Agnes (O'Meal) Leeuwen. She graduated from Marion Central School and earned her Bachelor's and Master's degrees from SUNY Fredonia. Throughout her professional career she strived to better the lives of hundreds of children. Lori retired from the Newport, Kentucky School System after more than 30 years as a Speech-Language Pathologist. She had enjoyed her part-time work for the Home City Ice Company in Cincinnati, Ohio. Lori was an active member in the Christian community of the Bridgetown Church of Church of Christ and is survived by many dear friends within her church and neighborhood. Interment in East Palmyra Cemetery. In Ohio, Lori is survived by a son, Michael Oberst (dear friend, Lynn); step-daughter Deanne (Tom) Wilmans; step-granddaughter, Ally; fiance Mark Kroeger, who has cared for her and remained by her side through the best and worst of days. Lori is also survived by her siblings: Richard (Karol) Leeuwen of Palmyra, Judith (Reginald) Langdon of East Palmyra, Charles (Darlene) Leeuwen of Newark, and Kathryn (Dennis) Kline of Newark; nieces and nephews: Heather and Justin Langdon, Richard Jr. (Samantha) and Michele Leeuwen, Kelly and Amanda Leeuwen and Matthew and Melissa Kline; great-niece Jordan Redmond; aunts, uncles and cousins.

Oakleaf,Edna R. - Edna R. Oakleaf, 90, of the Penn Yan Manor Nursing Home, died Sept. 11, 2003 at Soldiers & Sailors Memorial Hospital after a brief illness. Edna was born March 28, 1913 in Naples, the daughter of Clifford and Winnie Rex Crouch and graduated from Naples High School in 1930. She was a registered nurse for 20 years and retired in 1973 as the assistant director of nurses at the Wayne County Nursing Home. After receiving her registered nursing degree in the last graduating class from Clifton Springs Sanitarium & Clinic School of Nursing in 1934, her nursing career included service at the Bronx Veterans Hospital, at the Clifton Springs Hospital and the Lyons Community Hospital. Edna was a 60-year member of the First Presbyterian Church in Lyons and was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star. She enjoyed writing editorials and poetry, which she shared with the readers of numerous area newspapers. She is survived by her son, Donald (Marie) of Canandaigua; two daughters, Laura (Arthur) Lewis of Geneva and Ruth Oakleaf of Lyons; her sister, Marion Mills of Penn Yan; three grandchildren, Jeffrey Oakleaf of Rochester, Carol Oakleaf of Victor and Daniel Lewis of Seneca Falls; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Frederick H. in 1998.

Decker, Mary Ann - Mary Ann Decker, 76, of Newark died Sept. 12, 2003 at the Wayne County Nursing Home. Mrs. Decker was born Feb. 4, 1927 in Newark, the daughter of Frank and Angeline Critelli Zappia. She graduated from Newark High School in 1945 and was a lifelong communicate of St. Michael Church. Mary had worked at the PeeWee Lunch, at John Bilotta Enterprises, at Sarah Coventry Jewelry and retired in 1992 from Newark Electric, where she was the office manager. Interment, Newark Cemetery. She is survived by her three children, Donna (Gregory) Holder, Ann Decker and Harvey Decker, all of Newark; three grandchildren, Jason and Julie Holder and Kayleigh Egburtson; two sisters, Catherine Colacino of Newark and Angeline Venuti of Webster; two sisters-in-law, Lee Zappia of Newark and Eleanor Zappia of Geneva; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Harvey in 1990; three brothers, Joseph, John and Anthony Zappia; and her sister, Margaret Filippello.

Lopez-Ruiz, Emiliano - Emiliano Lopez-Ruiz, 95, of West Miller Street, Newark, died September 12, 2003 at the DeMay Living Center. Emiliano was born November 11, 1907, in Puerto Rico, the son of Aurelio and Anna Ruiz Lopez. He was a farm supervisor in Puerto Rico and had lived in Newark for 14 years. Interment in Newark Cemetery. He is survived by his daughter, Gloria M. (Jose M.) Fernandez of Newark; seven other children in Puerto Rico; several grandchildren; several great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.

Vanderbrook, Virginia - Virginia Vanderbrook, 88, of Marion, died September 14, 2003. She was predeceased by her husband, Adrian in 1987. She is survived by her sons, Richard (Virginia A.) Vanderbrook of Marion and Donald (Paulina) Vanderbrook of Marion; grandchildren, Tim, Terry, Todd, Lynnette, Marcia and Mark; 17 great-grandchildren; and many nieces & nephews. She was a member of the Second Reformed Church in Marion. Interment was in Marion Cemetery.

Barnaba, Marie - Marie L. Barnaba, 96, of Newark, died September 7, 2003 at the Wayne County Nursing Home. Marie was born August 18, 1907 in Oliphant, PA, the daughter of Joseph and Katherine Fontanella Scott. She was a communicant of St. Michael's Church and a member of the BPW of Newark. Marie had been a long-time employee of the Hillside Children's Center in Rochester; for many years she volunteered with the Foster Grandparent program at Newark Developmental Center. Interment in Newark Cemetery. Mrs. Barnaba is survived by six children: Joseph (Judy) of Lyons; Jean (Tony) De Leo of Clyde; Connie (Dick) Rogers of Davenport, FL; Samuel (Carol) of Marana, AZ; Anthony (Barb) Novak and Ann (John) Novak of Tucson, AZ; 16 grandchildren, several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; a brother, Sam Scott of Fort Lauderdale, FL; two sisters, Lena Rossi of Binghamton, Carmella Perri of Whitney Point; many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Angelo; a daughter, Grace Robson of Newark; two sons, Gerald and Angelo Jr.; nine brothers and sisters.

Atkinson, Macie - Macie Atkinson, 102, died September 6, 2003. She was born October 16, 1900, to Hattie Olive and Samuel Thurston Montgomery. She was raised and schooled in Texas; in 1919 she married Toland Atkinson. She is survived by her son Toland (Eleanor) Atkinson of Lyons; two daughters, Betty Kelly of Manassas, VA and Patricia (Tom) Greene of Honolulu; six grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. Macie was predeceased by her husband, Toland and son, Roland. She requested no funeral service. Her body has been donated to the University of Rochester for medical research.

Cambier, Lloyd - Lloyd J. Cambier, 83, of Newark and Palmyra, died Sept. 6, 2003 at DeMay Living Center in Newark.Lloyd was born Oct. 29, 1919 in Sodus to John and Penelope (DeRight) Cambier. He and Marion Bueg were married in Rochester on April 26, 1952. The couple resided on Cambier Road in East Palmyra, where they tended a vegetable farm and tree nursery, raised children and cared for many beloved pets. Lloyd sold his vegetables and Christmas trees and wreaths for many years at roadside stands and at the Palmyra Moose Lodge, of which he was a member. Lloyd is a Navy veteran of World War II; he was a water tender 3rd class who was deployed to Pearl Harbor after it was attacked. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars in Palmyra and the James R. Hickey Post No. 120 of the American Legion. DeVries, Wihelmina - Wilheilmina M. DeVries, 89, of East Williamson, died September 4, 2003 at Blossom View Nursing Home, Sodus. She is survived by daughter, Wilhelmina (Phillip) Dean of Williamson; son, Jacob (Elaine) DeVries of Williamson; four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter. She was predeceased in 1979 by her husband, Jacob DeVries. Interment in Lake View Cemetery, Pultneyville.

Bornheimer, Robert F. - Robert F. Bornheimer, 80, of Lyons, died September 4, 2003 at the Newark Manor Nursing Home. Bob was born in Lyons, on March 11, 1923, to Jess and Mabel Warren Bornheimer. He was employed by the NYS Waterways, Lyons Lock 28, for 15 years, and 16 years at Parker Hannifin (previously the Kenmore Company) in Lyons and was a life-long farmer in the area. Predeceased by his brothers, Harry, Clifford, Erving, Leon, Daniel, Gerald, Alfred; and sister, Louise. He is survived by his wife, Mary L. Bornheimer; children, Ronald Bornheimer, Barbara (William) Pullen both of Lyons, Katherine Beswick of Greece, and Larry (Linda) Bornheimer of Macedon; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, cousins, nieces and nephews. Interment, Elmwood Cemetery in Lyons.

Ross, Bertha E. - Bertha E. (Nevelezer)Ross, RN, 62, of Texas and Marion, died unexpectedly at home on September 3, 2003 at the age of 62. Born in Marion, Bertha was a graduate of Marion Central School (1959) and the Rochester General Hospital School of Nursing (1962). She is survived by her husband, John Ross, and daughter, Brenda (Scott) MacPherson all of Houston. Also survived by brother, Jesse (Gloria) Nevelezer of Williamson, and sisters, Naomi Jackson of Moselle, Mississippi, Ethel (Bruce) Stone of Williamson, Ruth (George) Cook of Tully, Esther (James) Deys of Palmyra, and sister-in-law Nancy Nevelizer of Marion along with several nieces and nephews. Grant, Edna - Edna Alice (Reynolds) Grant, age 82, of Sodus, died September 7, 2003 at the Wayne County Nursing Home. Edna was born April 11, 1921 in Sodus, to Irene and Mervin Reynolds. Edna and her husband, Eldon, were avid campers and enjoyed traveling all over the United sates, upon retirement. She enjoyed all kinds of crafts. She retired from the Newark Developmental Center Laundry after ten years of service. She was predeceased May 12, 2003 by her husband, Eldon Grant, and by two children. Edna is survived by her brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Stanley and Eleanor Grant; sister-in-law, Gene Oosterling; 12 nieces and nephews; great-nieces and great-nephews. Interment at the Sodus Rural Cemetery.

Campbell, Lucille - Lucille I. Campbell, 78, of Newark, died September 8, 2003 after a short illness. She was born March 19, 1925 to Cecil and Ruth Frey Kirshner. She enjoyed gardening, traveling and playing Bingo. She was retired from G.W. Lisk after 25 years. Martin, Lillian - Lillian S. Martin, 95, of Newark, died August 29, 2003 at DeMay Living Center. Lillian was born January 16, 1908 in Eden, to Charles and Laura Mooney Swanson. She graduated from high school in 1925. She worked for Wilson Hardware Store for many years. Mrs. Martin was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Newark joining on Feb. 11, 1962. She was also a member of the Eastern Star Amitie Chapter 473, RSVP Group of Newark, and the Rebekah Silver Link Lodge. Mrs. Martin is survived by her sons Larry (Carol) Martin of Victor and Wayne (Joan) Martin of Henrietta; grandchildren Kelly, Keith, Dana (Sakiko), Jack (Tania) Martin and Amy (Richard) Snyder; nine great- grandchildren; brother Charles (Dorothy) Swanson of California; sisters Evelyn Gorenson of Jamestown, Betty (Virland) Mead of Falconer, and Donna (Frank) Phelka of Florida; nieces and nephews. Munroe, George - Gaylord 'George' M. Munroe, 62, of Newark/Arcadia, died peacefully at his home on August 29, 2003 after a courageous battle with cancer. George was born April 5, 1941 in Syracuse, the son of the late Thomas and Doris Mead Munroe. He retired from Xerox Corp. in 1997; he had worked in Engineering Support. He was a past member of the Finger Lakes Stamp Association and was an avid stamp collector. George enjoyed his grandchildren, gardening and wood working. The staff at the funeral home flew the Navy flag in honor of his service during the Vietnam Conflict. George will be missed by his loving and devoted wife of 40 years, Diane (Ginn) Munroe; sons and daughters-in-law, Brett and Barbara Munroe of Cortland, Russ and Marcia Munroe of Newark; his adored grandchildren Mackenna and Samuel Munroe of Newark; brothers Ralph (Jean) of Parish, and William (Ruth) Munroe of Indiana; sisters Joan Paine of New Hampshire and Sherry (Ron) Emenecker of PA; many nieces and nephews; mother- in-law Violet Diamond of Richland. Moysey, Carol - Carol Anne Moysey, 63 of Poughkeepsie, died Saturday, August 30, 2003 at home after a courageous 30 year battle with cancer. Carol was born January 29, 1940 in Clifton Springs. She was the daughter of John and Wilhelmina Wedman Howard and adopted daughter of C. Irving and Esther DeWeaver Sprong. She worked 20 years as a Private Adoption Researcher and the author of nine Adoption/Genealogy Books. She was a member of St. Stanislaus Church of Pleasant Valley. She is survived by her husband Stanley P. Moysey; two sons, Michael (Penny) Cloonan of Dansville, and Terry Karian of Rochester; daughter Cathy Lynn (Kyle) Powers of Copake; two step-sons, Tom (Lisa) Moysey of Waterford, CT, Paul Moysey of Virginia Beach, VA; four grandchildren; two brothers, Buddy (Peg) Belanger of Las Vegas, NV; Chuck (Gloria) Sprong of Irving, TX; and sister Karen (John) Simizion of Newark; nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles. Lewis, Donald - Donald F. Lewis, 79, of Williamson, died August 30, 2003. He served in the U.S. Marines during WWII. Fox, Jeanette - Jeanette E. Fox, 71, of Sodus, died September 1, 2003. Jeanette was born and raised in Sodus and moved to Lyons after she was married. Later she moved to Webster for a few years and returned to Sodus to the family farm. She moved to Florida and lived there for many years before returning to Sodus. She is survived by her sons, Douglas (Laurie) and Duane (Cheryl Betteridge), both of Sodus; daughter, Darcy (Alan) Davidson of Sodus; four grandchildren; sisters, Virginia Appleton of Palmetto, FL, Mary Lou (Albert) Turri of Spring Hill, FL, Judy Chapin of Wolcott; brother, Robert (Linda) Mitchell of Port Charlotte, FL; her uncle, Worth Warner of Utica; cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. Williams, Rebecca - Rebecca 'Becky' Rose Williams, 38, of Newark, died August 22, 2003 at Newark Hospital as a result of an automobile accident in Arcadia. Becky was born Jan. 16, 1965, in Newark, daughter of David and Bonnie Day Bertino. She graduated from Newark High School in 1983. Becky was a member of the Park Presbyterian Church, and she enjoyed being a full-time mom and wife. She loved animals and horseback riding. She will be missed by her loving husband, Scott Williams; their two-year-old daughter, Mallory Rose Williams; her parents, David and Bonnie Day Bertino of Newark; sister, Lora (Mark) Krause of Newark; maternal grandmother, Alice Day of Newark; mother and father in-law, Ronald and Carol Williams of Newark; sister-in-law, Jill Williams of Auburn; and her aunts, Sandra (Richard) Rice and Linda (John) Donaldson, both of Newark.

Chapman, Sanford - Sanford L. 'Sandy' Chapman, 87, died August 20, 2003 at the Living Center South in Geneva. Mr. Chapman was born August 28, 1915 in Newark. to Dean and Caroline Vanderbrook Chapman. For 34 years, he was a pressman at Bloomer Brothers, retiring in 1975. He was a member of St. Michael's Church and the August Mauer Post 286 American Legion. Sandy was a past commander of Arcadia Memorial Post 2893 Veteran of Foreign Wars and Wayne County VFW. He was a navigator in the US Army Air Force, flying in the invasion of Normandy and throughout Europe during World War II. He is survived by a niece, Caroline Torbitt of Canandaigua, a nephew Orlin Chapman of Newark, many great-nieces and great-nephews. He was predeceased by his parents and two brothers, Hoyt and Francis Chapman. Interment, East Newark Cemetery.

Ware, Gladys - Gladys D. Ware, 90, of Newark, died August 17, 2003. She is survived by her husband of 67 years, Richard W.; a devoted daughter, Karen Ware of East Rochester; son, Terrick (Patricia) of Fort Worth, TX; three grandchildren and three great-grand daughters; a sister, Irma DeVoe of Fairport; a sister-in-law, Venita DeVoe of Columbus, OH; a nephew and cousins. Bryant, Eva - Eva Julia Bryant, 85, of Lyons, died August 15, 2003 at Newark Hospital. Eva was born Aug. 23,1917 in Lyons, the daughter of Veto and Elvira Cipriano. She was a cook for the Newark State School with 15 years of service. She had worked at the Bridge Tavern and also Tom Jones Restaurant. She was also a bartender for the American Legion of Lyons. Eva served in the Marines and was a sergeant. She traveled to many Marine Corps conventions, was a member of the Marine Corps Association, served as a commander of the American Legion of Lyons, was past president of the American Legion Auxiliary and a life member of the VFW Auxiliary of Lyons. She also had a great love for playing Bingo. She is survived by her two daughters, Julia (John) Gilligan of Austin, Texas and Tina (Ralph) Loller of Oakley, California; two sons, James of Lyons and Dean (Patti) of Seneca Falls; two sisters, Dorothy Comella of Lyons and Mae Slocum of Industry, Monroe County; two brothers, Leonard Cipriano of Lyons and Kenny Cipriano of Michigan; seven grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brothers, Nick and Bill Cipriano; and sisters, Lena, Frances and Anna. Interment in Elmwood Cemetery with full military rites accorded at the grave.

Warner, Janet - Janet M. Warner, 57, of Clifton Springs, died August 15, 2003 at Geneva General Hospital after a long illness. Janet was born June 18, 1946 in Downsville, to Harry and Charlotte Barnhart. Raised in Gorham, she lived in Clifton Springs for more than 35 years. Radl, Mildred - Mildred Anne Radl, 90, of Newark died August 16, 2003 at the Blossom View Nursing Home in Sodus. Mildred was born Jan. 1, 1913 in New York City, to Frank and Julia Bayer Maly. She moved here from NYC in 1996. She is survived by her daughter, Carole (Thomas) McDermott of Newark; son, Otto (Mary) of Troy, NH; eight grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren. Bartoletti, Salvatore - Salvatore P. 'Sam' Bartoletti, 74, of Newark, died August 13, 2003 at the DeMay Living Center after a long illness. Sam was born December 4, 1928 in Wilkes Barre, PA to Samuel and Philomena Bartoletti. He worked at Riegel Paper Mill as a boiler operator and then the Newark Post Office, from which he retired after 20 years. He was in the Army during the Korean War. Sam was a life member of the Newark VFW Post 2883 and the IOOB. He was a member of the Marbletown Vol. Fire Department. Sam is survived by his wife Barbara (Newcombe) Bartoletti; son Michael (Carol) Bartoletti of Florida; daughter Robbin (Ronnie) Ritkoski of PA; two granddaughters, three step-grandsons and two step-great-granddaughters; brothers Michael (Isabella), Joseph (Jean), Guido and Albert (Johanne) Bartoletti all of PA; sister Ann Giordina of PA; nieces and nephews. For 30 years, he was a mental health attendant at the Newark Developmental Center, retiring in 1988. He was a communicant of St. Michael's Church and member of Newark Elks Lodge. He is survived by his wife, Beth (Sahm) English; son Joseph (Joan) English of East Williamson, daughter Julie Mohanlall of East Williamson; three grandchildren; sisters, Doris (Paul) Washburn, Phyllis (Bob) Luzier, Beverly (Larry) Passmore. English, James - James P. English, 80, of Sodus died August 13, 2003. He was predecesasd in 1998 by his wife, Sarah (Huff) English. Miner, Carl - Carl Isaac Miner, 92, of Zephyrhills, FL, died August 15, 2003. He was born January 23, 1911 in Rose, to Samuel and Minnie Biantha (Rouse) Miner. He lived in Rose; he retired in Newark as a general contractor in construction prior to moving to Florida more than 20 years ago. He was a licensed pilot and member of the Civil Air Patrol during WWII. Other memberships included the Lake City Masonic Lodge #127 in Oswego, NY; and Temple Baptist Church in Dade City, FL. Internment in Oakside Cemetery in Zephyrhills, FL. Mr. Miner was preceded in death by his wife, in 1993, Maja-Lisa; son, Alan Fairrock; and daughter, Ellen-Marie Vanderstine in 2003. Survived by, 2 daughters, Patricia Dennert of Romeo, MI, and Margaret Miner of Zephyrhills, FL; threesons, John 'Jack' Miner of Erieville, NY, Robert Fairrock of Wilmington, CA, and Paul Miner of Auburn; a brother, Clifford Miner of Tucson, AZ; sister, Miriam Englehardt of Rensselaer; 15 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter; nieces and nephews.

DeCook, Inez - Inez E. DeCook, 68, of Lyons, died August 18, 2003 at Newark Hospital. Inez was born April 15, 1935 in Rochester, to George and Frances Troutman Edwards. She worked in the office for Randall Machine in Macedon. She had lived in Rochester and was a graduate of East High School. She is survived by her husband Ralph; two sons, Paul and Michael Rosenbauer; a daughter Eileen Rosenbauer of Geneva; six grandchildren, brother George Edwards of FL. She was predecesased by a son, Erick. Interment will be in Newark Cemetery.

Stell, Robert - Robert C. 'Rob' Stell, 28, of Newark, died August 10, 2003 in Otisco. He was born September 30, 1974 in Newark, son of Craig and Amy (Lent) Stell. He was a pipe fitter for H.M.I Mechanical of Alloway. A 1992 graduate of Newark High, he played on the Reds lacrosse and football teams and was voted as having the Best Smile in his senior class. He received an associate's degree in Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning in 1994 from Monroe Community College; he also wen to Ferris State College in Michigan. Rob was a member of Park Presbyterian Church, Elks Lodge and the Newark Rod and Gun Club. He is survived by his wife, Laura (Deyo); his parents, Craig and Amy of Clifton Springs; sister, Kristin (Joshua Springer) Stell of Palmyra; grandparents, Glenn and Shirley Stell of Newark, Dorothy Derr of Clifton Springs; Duane (Bea) Lent of Waterloo; Laura's parents, Arnold and Monica Deyo of Marion; his dog, Jake; a niece, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins; brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, and many good friends. Cornwell, Carlton - Carlton A. Cornwell, 82, of Sodus, died August 11, 2003 at Newark Community Hospital. Sutter, Eva - Eva K. Sutter, 78, of North Rose, died August 6, 2003. Eva was born September 17, 1924, to Albert and Catherine DeDee Knapp, in Rose. Surviving are her special friend, William R. Messinger, Edna - Edna M. Messinger, 84, died July 31, 2003 in Blossom View Nursing Home in Sodus. She was predeceased by her husband, Gerald. She is survived by nieces, nephews and dear friends. Interment in the Sodus Rural Cemetery.

Buckel, Otto - Otto Clare Buckel, 87, of Lyons, died August 9, 2003 at Mohawk Valley Nursing Center. Otto was born July 17, 1916, son of Otto John and Mantie Houskniecht Buckel. He received his bachelor's and master's degrees from Syracuse University and was married to Genevieve Ess on Aug. 27, 1940. They moved to Lyons in 1945, where Otto taught high school chemistry and physics. He was elementary school principal from 1959 until his retirement in 1972. He was a member of the Masonic Humanity F&AM Lodge 406, a 50-year member of the First Presbyterian Church, lifetime member of Rotary International, charter member of Wayne Hills Country Club, member of the Duplicate Bridge Club. He is survived by his son James E. (Lynne) Buckel of Tucson, AZ; daughters Marilyn L. (Robert) Jauch of Kalamazoo, MI and Judith A. Anderson; his friend Thomas Murphy of Mohawk; six grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and four step-great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his wife, Genevieve in 1999; and his brother, Theo. Interment in Maple Lawn Cemetery.

Bulkley, Ruth - Ruth Fluent Bulkley of Clifton Springs, died August 5, 2003 at Strong Memorial Hospital. Ruth and husband Warden had retired to Boonville and later to Clifton Springs. A member of St. Mark's Episcopal Church in Newark, Ruth had been a faithful and devoted member of the Church of the Good Shepherd in Savona. She is survived by her daughters, Ruth (David) Fitch of Geneva, Kathryn (James) Bedette of Canandaigua; sons, Neil F. Bulkley of Corning, Frederick (Billie VanNeil) Bulkley of Pulteney; 13 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; sisters, one aunt, one niece; three nephews; and several cousins. She was predeceased by her husband Warden L. Bulkley in 1998; and her sister, Dorothy Johnston. Interment in Bath National Cemetery.

Douglass, Minnie - Minnie A. Douglass, 92, of Lyons, died August 9, 2003. Minnie was born May 15, 1911, in the town of Mentz, a, daughter to Ralph and Alice Slocum Sperry. She is survived by her daughters, Sharon (Andrew) TonesCabal of Newark and Ada (Jim) Newville of Lyons; son, Lewie (Brenda) Douglass of Pulaski; grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Raymond Douglass; daughter, Mary Herold; sons, Fred and Paul Douglass; brother, Ralph Sperry; and a sister; Mary Liechte. Interment in Butler Savannah Cemetery.

Rockefeller, John - John D. 'Rocky' Rockefeller, 80, of Pinehurst, NC, died August 1, 2003 after a short illness. He was born July 5, 1923 to the late Harold and Lois Beaumeister Rockefeller in Barberton, Ohio. He was retired Marine who fought in the South Pacific during WWII and in Korea. He was awarded the Bronze Star and two Purple Hearts. He was a life member of the VFW and American Legion. John retired from the Fabral Corporation as a regional sales manager and moved to Pinehurst from Lyons. John is survived by his wife Helen; daughter, Susan Rockefeller and husband Bob of Reading, PA; sons, John S. Rockefeller and wife Claudia Harris of Aurora, CO, Todd R. Rockefeller and wife Mary of Victor, and David A. Rockefeller and wife Patti of Lyons; grandsons, Jeffery Tindall of Mesa, AZ and Benjamin Rockefeller of Lyons. He was predeceased by his wife Betty in 1991.

Hayes, Benjamin - Benjamin Hayes, 89, of Newark and Rochster, died August 8, 2003 at DeMay Living Center. Mr. Hayes was born to John and Alice Hayes on November 25, 1913 in Georgia. He had worked for the University of Rochester in the Maintenance Department for many years. He is survived by his daughter Catherine Few of Florida; son and daughter-in-law Benjamin and Yvonne Hayes; 23 grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his daughter Mercy Smith and son Ernest Hayes. Interment is in Riverside Cemetery on Lake Avenue in Rochester.

Vanee, Eleanor - Eleanor C. Vanee, 89, died August 13, 2003 at Blossom View Nursing Home, Sodus. Eleanor was a teacher in the Sodus area for 35 years. She is survived by her daughters, Mary Ann (Eric) Giebner and Anita (Richard) Dibble; four granddaughters, two great-grandsons; sister-in-law Margaret Vanee; dear friend Don Harris; cousins, nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husbands, Jack Aumann in 1961, and Thomas Vanee in 1986. Interment in Sodus Rural Cemetery.

Marble, Verona - Verona M. Marble, 89, formerly of East Maple Ave., Newark, died August 1, 2003 at the Wayne County Nursing Home. Interment, Newark Cemetery. Verona was born to Ray and Bertha Sauers Marble on December 9, 1913, in the family home at 201 East Maple Avenue, Newark. She lived there her entire life until moving to the County Home. Verona's father Ray was a direct descendant of the four Marble brothers, who came here in 1802 from Taunton, Massachusetts and founded the settlement of Marbletown, then a 'howling widerness.' After graduating from Newark High School in 1931, she attended the Newark College Center and Syracuse University. She worked for 39 years for Chaffee's Inc. Department Store in Newark as a bookkeeper. During the 1950s, she ran an insurance agency which had been owned by her father for many years. Ms. Marble was a life member of the Park Presbyterian Church in Newark, NYS Covered Bridge Society, Burr Covered Bridge Society of PA, National Society for the Preservation of Covered Bridges, National Geographic Society, Wayne County Historical Society and the Arcadia Historical Society. Since April 1940 she was also a member of Col. William Prescott Chapter DAR. She will be missed by second cousins in New York and Ontario, Canada; special friends Frances Donald and Margaret Sloane and their families. She was predeceased by her father Ray on January 8, 1962, and her mother Bertha on January 23, 1970.

McMiIlin, Heath - Sgt. Heath A. McMillin, 29, of Canandaigua, was killed while honoring and serving his country in Iraq on July 27, 2003. Heath was born May 24, 1974 in Clifton Springs, son of Mark and Etta McMillin. He was a graduate of Midlakes High School, class of 1993. He served four years active duty in the U.S. Marine Corps and four years in the Army National Guard. He was due to be discharged from the Army National Guard in March 2003, but was activated for deployment to Iraq on February 14, 2003. Heath and Kelley were married on February 9, 2003, five days before deployment. He is survived by his wife, Kelley (Crowley) McMillin; and his three children - Michael McMillin, Mary McMillin of Phelps, and Robert McMillin of California; his parents, Mark and Debbie McMillin of Clifton Springs, Etta K. LaMott and Ray Croteau of Maine; grandparents, Donna and Bud Woodhams of Manchester, and Jackie VanderWerf of Clifton Springs; his in-laws, Francis and Sally Crowley of Farmington; his siblings, John and Shirley McMillin of Lyons, Jason and Laura McMillin of Clifton Springs, Jennifer McMillin of Rochester, and Cassie and Paul Sabatino; brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law; nieces, nephews, and many close friends. Interment in St. Rose Cemetery in Shortsville. The military ceremony included a 21-gun salute and four helicopters flying overhead.

Hall, Wesley - Wesley Hall, 72, of Palmyra/Newark, died August 6, 2003 at the DeMay Living Center. He was born January 18, 1931 in Walworth, to Everett and Florence Hall. He was the proprietor of Wes's Luncheon in Newark for many years. Hall was a veteran of the United States Navy and a member of the James R. Hickey Post #120 of the American Legion. Interment, St. Anne's Cemetery, Palmyra. Military honors accorded at the gravesite. He is survived by his son Stephen (Marlene) Hall of Walworth; granddaughter Alicia Hall; grandson Dan Hall; great-granddaughter Riley and loving companion Margaret Soverhill. He was predeceased by his wife, Helen Gensler Hall; son David Hall, infant granddaughter Helaine Katherine Hall.

Heald, Robert - Robert E. Heald, 76, died August 3, 2003; he was a resident of the Wayne County Nursing Home in Lyons. Robert was born October 31, 1926 in Lyons and was a farmer and a celebrated 25-year member of the National Grange. He was predeceased by his father Albert in 1960, mother Mabel (Bastian) Heald in 1966, and brother Howard Heald in 1957. Surviving are his wife of 52 years, Theda (Mason) Heald; son, Mark (Carol) Heald of Lyons; daughter, Crystal (Leslie) Powell of Georgia; two grandchildren, Douglas Heald of Lyons and Diane Heald of Farmington; and cousins. Burial in the South Lyons Cemetery.

Hayes, Helen - Helen G. Hayes, 86, of Newark Manor, died August 2, 2003. Helen was born June 11, 1917, in Ogdensburg, to Arthur and Anna Marie McCabe Julius. She was a nurse's aide, at the Tupper Lake T.B. Hospital. She was a member of the VFW Auxiliary of Tupper Lake, where she served as president. She also was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary of Tupper Lake. She is survived by her son, Nicholas Brown of Port Charlotte, FL; two daughters, Darlene Vollertsen of Newark and Patricia Dalton of Kansas; grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Interment in St. Mary's Cemetery, Ogdensburg.

Olmstead, Marian - Marian Olmstead, 96, of Wolcott, died March 21, 2003, in the Wayne County Nursing Home in Lyons. She is survived by her daughter, Mrs. Kay (Dr. Stephen) Pope of North Rose and Hobe Sound of Florida and her granddaughter, Kelly Wheeler of Berlin, Germany. She was predeceased by her husband, LaVerne in 1976. Graveside services will be held August 9 at 11:00 a.m. at the Glenside Cemetery in Wolcott. Everett, Minnie - Minnie May (Faas) Everett, 94, of Palmyra, died August 1, 2003. Her funeral was held at the McGuire/Hargrave & Murphy Funeral Home; interment in Port Gibson Cemetery. She is survived by her nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her husband, Harold.

Smith, Kathryn - Kathryn R. 'Kay' Smith, 92, of Williamson, died August 1, 2003. She retired from the Williamson Central School. She is survived by her daughter, Judy Faro of Williamson; sons, Kenneth (Judy) Keller, Jack (Margaret) Keller; 11 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, Joseph Smith, and daughter, Norleen Rifenberg. Interment in St. Anne's Cemetery, Palmyra.

Kinney, Anne Marie - Anne Marie Kinney, 55, of Greece/Newark, died July 24, 2003 at Park Ridge Hospital while awaiting a liver transplant. Anne Marie was the adopted daughter of Abram and Cornelia Rysdam DeLyser; she was born June 30, 1948 in Youngstown, Ohio. She enjoyed baking, canning and crafts. Anne Marie is survived by her daughter Melissa (Patrick) Lukes of Frederick, Maryland; grandchildren Brittany and Benjamin; mother Fern Balzano; brothers Philip Balzano, Andrew (Delorse) DeLyser and H. Sherman (Dorine) DeLyser; sisters Marsha (Nick) Massina, Michelle DeMartino, Alice Kimanski and Lena Bishop; nieces and nephews; special friend John Clair. Anne Marie was predeceased in 1985 by her father, Peter DeLyser. Interment in East Palmyra Cemetery.

Christiansen, Susan - Susan B. Christiansen, 46, of Clifton Springs, died July 25, 2003 at her home. Susan was born July 26,1956, in Fulton, the daughter of Harry E. and Elizabeth Brackett Garner. She was a member of the Canandaigua Baptist Church. Susan graduated from State University College at Geneseo with a master's degree. She was a special education teacher for the Phelps-Clifton Springs School District for the last 14 years. She worked for eight years at the Finger Lakes Community College Resource Center. She was a member of the New York State Teachers Association. She is survived by her husband of 23 years, Richard Christiansen; her parents, Harry and Elizabeth Barner of Rensselaer; sisters and brothers, Virginia (John) Bruce of Rensselaer, Stephen (Jeanne) Barner of Vermont, Harry Barner Jr. of Rensselaer, the Rev. Philip (Sandra) Barner of Elwood City, Pa., the Rev. Paul (Elvira) Barner of Davao City, Philippines, and Timothy (Amy) Barner of Middletown, Ohio; maternal grandmother, Mildred Brackett; mother and father-in-law, John and Pauline Christiansen of Phelps; brothers-in-law, the Rev. Holmes, Billie Lee - Billie Lee Holmes, 63, of Palmyra, died July 24, 2003. Billie Lee was a member of the Drumlins Car Club. He was predeceased by his parents, William G. and Arietta L. Holmes. He is survived by his wife, Victoria; brother, Weldon (Patricia) Holmes of FL.; sisters, Sharon (Paul) Monson, Judith (Thomas) Baglin; mother-in-law, Dorothy Klug; brother-in-law, Douglas Klug of TX; nieces, nephews and friends. Dowling, George - George F. Dowling, 83, formerly of Rome, died July 23, 2003 in Newark. George was born Sept. 28, 1919, in Elmira, to John and Marion Spear Dowling. He attended Plattsburgh and Oneida Schools, and was a World War II Army Air Corps veteran. George married Rose M. O'Connor Oct. 4, 1947; she died in 1995. He was employed by Rome Developmental Center, retiring in 1976 after 30 years of service. He had been a member of St. Peter's Church, the Ukrainian Club and the Rome Elks Lodge, as well as the Lee Center American Legion. He was a member of the Newark VFW and American Legion. He is survived by a daughter, with whom he resided, Catherine (Lawrence) DeHimer of Newark; a sister, June Breadstill of Aiken; his twin brother, John (Esther) Dowling of Rome; grandchildren, Megan DeHimer and Matthew DeHimer. Interment, St. Peter's Cemetery.

Kitzmiller, Richard - Richard M. Kitzmiller, 81, of Marion, died July 24, 2003 at the Clifton Springs Hospital. Richard was born November 6, 1921 in Steelton, PA to Martin and Florence Miller Kitzmiller. He was a graduate of Lehigh University in Bethlehem, PA and an employee of Bethlehem Steel. Richard and the former Ernestine Hartzell were married July 3, 1948 in Maryland. Mr. Kitzmiller is survived by his wife Ernestine; daughter Randy (Wayne) Schultz of Marion; sister Jerry Penniman of Maine; grandchildren Shane and Gabrielle Schultz and great-granddaughter Emily Schultz. He was in the United States Navy during WWII.

Catholdi, Joanne - Joanne E. Catholdi, 50, of Newark, died July 28, 2003 at Newark Hospital. Iinterment in Newark Cemetery. Joanne was born November 20, 1952 in Newark, to Charles John and Amelia Crescibene Catholdi. She is survived by her parents, aunts, uncles, cousins and a niece. In 2000 she was predeceased by her sister Mary Margaret Collins.

Cooper, Florence - Florence (Bush) Cooper, 89, of Williamson, died March 30, 2003. A celebration of her life will be held at the First Presbyterian Church in Williamson on Saturday, August 9, at 11 a.m.

Harris, Gerald - Gerald L. 'Jerry' Harris, 78, of Sodus and Montana, died July 11, 2003. Survivors include his wife, Lee D. Harr of Great Falls, MT; daughters Jerilea (James) Coulombe and Cheryl (Mark) Toor of Sodus, Melody (Kevin) Maine of Virginia, Rebecca (Roger) Crane of Wolcott; three stepchildren, nine grandchildren, six great-grandchildren. He was born Sept. 11, 1924 in Williamson; he graduated from Williamson High School. He entered the Army during World War II, and participated in the invasion at Omaha Beach and in other battles across Europe. He earned the Silver Star. He attended Cornell University. Jerry built and operated the former Sodus Bay Sports Marine at Sodus Point and helped introduce ice boating and racing to the Bay. In Montana he operated a gun and sporting goods shop and ran a movie theater. He later moved to Helena and ran Hauser Marine Service. He married the former Lee D. Larson, on July 20, 1985. He was predeceased by a brother, Hugh, a sister, Wilma Jones; his parents Mahlon and Glaldys (Tummonds) Harris, and an infant daughter.

Donohue, Elizabeth - Elizabeth H. Donohue, 89, of Sodus, died July 27, 2003 it the Blossom View Nursing in Sodus. She was predeceased by her husband, Patrick J Donohue, and great-grandson David Walsh. She is survived by a son, Patrick H. 'Butch' (Norma) Donohue of North Rose; granddaughters and great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Interment is in the Sodus Rural Cemetery.

Davis, Glenn - Glenn Davis, 48, of Clifton Springs, died July 28, 2003. Glenn was born February 25, 1955 in Rochester. He enjoyed music and especially the Beatles. Glenn loved to meet new people. Duste, Ervin - Ervin S. Duste, 90, of Marion, died at his home on July 28, 2003. He was a retired dairy farmer. Mason, Rose - Rose M. Mason, 85, of Newark, died July 18, 2003 at Newark Hospital. Rose was born May 17, 1918 in Lyons, to Louis and Susana Vitaro Cinelli. She worked at The Paris in Newark as a sales clerk for many years. She was a member of St. Michael Church in Newark and belonged to The Rosary Altar Society. Rose is survived by her husband Francis Mason, Sr.; sons Francis, Jr. of Newark, James (Susan) of Lyons, and Thomas Mason of CA; daughters Susan Shackleton of CA, Mary Montirroso of Honduras, and Elizabeth Mason of Newark; grandchildren York and Shana Shackleton, Loren and Tristan Montirroso, Alan, Marcy Mason and Emma Rose Mason; brothers Frank (Mary) and Eugene (Angie) Cinelli. Mrs. Mason was predeceased by her brothers Arthur and Albert Cinelli, and her sister Rafe Paliotti. Interment is in the Newark Cemetery.

Nittolo, Hazel - Hazel Irene (DeVall) Nittolo, 81, of Newark died July 21, 2003 at Wayne County Nursing Home. Hazel was born November 22, 1921 in Wolcott, to William and Elizabeth (Heck) DeVall. She worked at Montgomery Ward and Bern Furniture in Newark. She is survived by her daughter, Judy (John) McCarthy; daughter-in-law, Barbara Nittolo of Newark; grandson Todd (Jill) Nittolo and great-grandson, Nicolas Nittolo, all of Newark; sister, Ruth Ticconi of Alton; brother, Gordon DeVall of North Rose; nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was predeceased by her parents, her husband Frank in 1993, son A. James in 1998, brother Don DeVall and sister Joyce Poole.

Love, Herbert - Herbert R. Love, 91, died July 17, 2003 at DeMay Living Center in Newark. Herbert was born June 3, 1912 in Newark, son of Henry and Alida Ferguson Love. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church. He worked for Chaffee Department Store in Newark, Garlock, Inc. in Palmyra, and custodian for 20 years (retired in 1977) at Newark Junior High School. He served five years as a rifleman in the U.S. Army Infantry during World War II. He was with the early landing force on the beaches of Normandy on D-Day, then fought across Northern France, the Rhineland and into the Ardennes Forest. He was wounded and received The Purple Heart during the Battle of the Bulge. He was a life member of the Arcadia Memorial Post #2883, Veterans of Foreign Wars. Over the years, Herb enjoyed woodworking, fishing and hunting.He is survived by good friends Ed and Doris Krocke of Newark and a nephew. Herb was predeceased on February 9, 1999 by his wife Isabelle. He was buried with military honors at Newark Cemetery.

Pulver, Russell - Russell R. Pulver, 87, of Newark, died July 23, 2003 at Clifton Springs Hospital. He was born October 15, 1915 in Arcadia, son of William and Matie Eyre Pulver. He retired in 1978 from the Town of Arcadia Highway Department. He served in the U.S. Army Armored Division from 1941-45, and he received honors. He was a member of the Newark Masonic Lodge, life member of Arcadia Memorial Post VFW, and a member of Fairville Presbyterian Church. Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Irene Tack Pulver; two sons, Russell T. (Royetta) of Irondequoit and David A. (Sherry) of Atlanta, GA; grandchildren, Jeffrey and Ellen; two sisters, Matie Lehn of Lyons and Adele Seirs of Howell, NJ; nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by six brothers and three sisters. Interment in Fairville Cemetery with full military rites.

Morris, Katy-Marie - Katy-Marie Atwell Morris, 24, died July 17, 2003 at University Hospital in Syracuse. Katy was born August 6, 1978 in Newark, daughter of George Smith and Mary Eckrich Atwell. She was a member of the Dare to Care in Lyons and volunteered at De May Living Center and Wayne County Nursing Home. Katy is survived by her husband Robert Morris; her mother the Rev. Mary Atwell of Palmyra; brothers Joshua Atwell of Rochester and Brian Atwell of Syracuse; maternal grandmother Carolyn Eckrich of Newark; paternal grandfather Robert Abbott of Newark; niece Rebecca; uncle Robert (Linda) Eckrich of Maryland; aunts Penny Abbott, Theresa Sovie and Kathy Montgomery; cousins and friends. Katy was predeceased by her father George Smith in 1988; maternal grandfather Raymond Eckrich in 1985; paternal grandmother Helen Abbott in 1994. Interment is in the East Palmyra Cemetery.

Simpson, Rosemary - Rosemary Simpson, 75, of Phelps, died July 19 at Clifton Springs Nursing Home. She was born December 1, 1931 in Seneca Falls, to the late Arthur and Audrey Meeks Scharett. She owned and operated Rosemary's Diner in Phelps. She is survived by her daughter, Audrey Smith of Newark; five grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, two sisters, five brothers, nieces and nephews. Interment in Restvale Cemetery in Seneca Falls.

Sherman, Vera - Vera M. Sherman, 82, of Sodus, died July 17, 2003. She is survived by her children, Gladys (Donald) Hickey, Vera (John) Erwin, Paulette (Peter) Griepsma, Virginia (David) Dorn and Robert (Lynn) Sherman; grandchildren and great-grandchildren and friends. She was predeceased by her husband, George. Interment in Sodus Rural Cemetery.

Gliem, Mildred - Mildred 'Tiny' Gliem, of Marion, died July 19, 2003, at Clifton Springs Hospital. She is survived by her daughter, Irene (Dennis) Meilutis. She was predeceased by her husband, Carl and daughter, Winifred Martin.

Brown, Sharon Ann - Sharon Ann Brown, 55, of Palmyra, died July 18, 2003. She worked at the Wayne County Dept. of Social Services, Newark-Wayne Community Hospital, DeMay Living Center and the Finger Lakes Performing Arts Center in Canandaigua. She is survived by her husband, Joseph L. Brown; daughters, Jessica (Aaron) Krocke and Melissa Brown; her mother, Emma Celso; sister, Dorothy Dorizio; brothers, John and Robert Celso. She was predeceased by her father, Benjamin Celso, and by sisters, Marian Mass and Grace Doran. Interment in St. Anne's Church in Palmyra.

East, Raymond - Raymond L. East, 80, of Marion died July 20, 2003, at Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester. He was born November 25, 1922 in Palmyra and lived in Marion since 1948. He owned his own farm and sawmill for more than 30 years. He served in the Navy during World War II and was a member and Past Commander of Marion American Legion Post 1430. He is survived by his children, Gary (Frances) East of Newark, David (Suzette) East of Maine, Debbie (Larry) Furguson of Marion, Julie (Brad) Wing of Marion; nine grandchildren; six great-grandchildren. Raymond was predeceased by his wife, Helen. Interment is in Riverview Cemetery.

Stone, Doris - Doris Frances 'Stoney' Stone of Newark died July 20, 2003 at Clifton Springs Nursing Home. She was born in Pulteney, the daughter of Melvin and Mable Stewart Stone. She worked in the office at Garlock Co. in Palmyra for many years. Interment is in Glenview Cemetery in Pulteney at the convenience of the family.

Marro, Irene - Irene Bedette Marro, 80, formerly of Newark and Geneva, died July 19, 2003 at her home in Fort Lauderdale, FL. Irene was born in Newark, the daughter of Henry and Betty Bedette. She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Lawrence (Speck) Marro. She is survived by a daughter, Mary Jane (Val) Valentino of Geneva; three grandchildren, Valerie (Mike) Oyer, Michelle (Eric) Hemmings of Virginia Beach and Stephen (Kelly) Valentino of Geneva; seven great-grandchildren; two brothers, Robert Bedette of Tennessee and Allyn Bedette of Newark; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, nephews, nieces and cousins.

Palmer, Dorothy - Dorothy M. Palmer, 64, of Newark, died July 22, 2003 at Geneva General Hospital. Dorothy was born April 11, 1939, in Marion, to Frank and Cora Mander Ford. She was a seamstress for many years at Hallagan Mfg. Co., retiring in 1991. She is survived by her children: Darl (Laura) Palmer of Newark, Cheryl (Dennis) Rowe of Clyde, Edward (Debbie) Palmer of Waterloo, Tina (Mike) Tobin of Waterloo, and Lori (John) Wood of Waterloo; 14 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; two brothers, Frank Ford, Jr. of Newark and Albert Ford of Marion. She was predeceased by her husband, Roger C. Palmer, in 1999; and two sisters, Carol Green and Eva DeBoerder. Interment in South Lyons Cemetery.

Welch, Ginny - Virginia A. 'Ginny' Welch, of Palmyra, died July 22, 2003, after a courageous battle with cancer. Stell, Francine - Francine Stell, 68, of Sodus Point, died July 15, 2003 at Newark Hospital. Francine was born April 5, 1935, in Newark, to Jacob and Dorothy Foss. She retired from Garlock, Inc. as a graphic artist, where she worked for 15 years. Francine is survived by a sister, Jinny Harrsch of Missouri; brother, James Foss of Clyde; her father, Jacob Foss of Missouri; nieces and nephews.

Burnham, Phoebe - Phoebe Burnham, 94, died July 13, 2003 at DeMay Living Center in Newark. She was born October 21, 1908 in Lisbon, a daughter of Arthur and Inez Griffiths Newcombe. She retired in 1968 from the Newark Developmental Center, where she was a cook for 29 years. She was a member of Park Presbyterian Church, and Amitie Chapter #473 of the Order of the Eastern Star. She is survived by two sons, Robert (Jerri) and Lyle A. (Patricia), son-in-law Ed Brockhuizen, all of Newark; 22 grandchildren, 34 great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren; two sisters, Eleanor Hale of Newark and Ruth (Henry) Davis of St. Cloud, Florida; nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Lyle E., son Leslie, daughter Patricia Brockhuizen, four brothers and three sisters. Interment in Newark Cemetery.

Shoemaker, Jack - John E. 'Jack' Shoemaker, 67, of Marion, died July 14, 2003. Jack is survived by his wife Denise Fischette Shoemaker; children Robin (Thomas) DeWitt and Scott (Cindy Hummel) Shoemaker; five grandchildren; brother Charles (Olivia) Shoemaker; sisters Margaret Brake and Betty (Don) Eberlin; nieces, nephews and cousins. Jack was a manager at Mobil Chemical, from which he retired in September 1992. He was employed there for 35 years. Interment in South Perinton Cemetery.

Cuvelier, Jacob - Jacob Cuvelier; 88, formerly of Newark, died July 7, 2003 at F.F. Thompson Nursing Home in Canandaigua. Jake was born Jan. 14,1915, in Williamson, to William and Sarah Goethals Cuvelier. He was a member of the Army Artillery. He had worked for the Singer Co. in Rochester and was a member of the Arcadia Reformed Church. Jake lived at the Armstrong Senior Living in Newark. He is survived by his sister, Jacomina McCray of Canandaigua, and cousins, Brad, Brian, Craig and Gregory Cuvelier. Interment in East Newark Cemetery.

Tyman, David - David B. Tyman, 49, of Phelps, formerly of Boston, Massachusetts, died July 11 2003 at the Pines of Peace in Ontario, as a result of lung cancer. David was born May 2, 1954 in Clifton Springs, son of the late Raymond and Betty Chase Tyman. He was a 1972 graduate of Midlakes High School and graduated from the University of Rochester as an X-ray technician. David worked at Strong Memorial Hospital for 14 years before moving to Boston, where he worked for Brigham and Women's Hospital for the last 16 years. David is survived by his friends and co-workers in Boston and Rochester. He is survived by three brothers: Mark Tyman of Sodus Point, Scot (Michele) Tyman of Phelps, and the Rev. Gary Tyman of Rochester; nephew Scot Tyman and nieces, Carrie and Hannah Tyman, all of Phelps. Interment in St. Francis Cemetery.

Nussbaumer, Todd - Todd J. Nussbaumer, 33, of Palmyra, died July 13, 2003 from injuries suffered in an ATV accident on July 5. He is survived by his parents, Charles and Linda Nussbaumer; brother, Charles (Pamela) Nussbaumer,Jr.; one nephew, one niece, several aunts, uncles and cousins. Interment in St. Anne's Cemetery, Palmyra.

Herman, Donald - Donald B. Herman, 71, of Sodus, formerly of Ohio, died July 12, 2003 in the Clifton Springs Hospital Clinic. He is survived by his wife, Dorothy of Ravenna, OH; son, Michael (Diana) Herman of Sodus; three grandchildren; two sisters, Zadia Bruno (Gerald Slater) of Williamson and Gail Rivers of FL; brother, Keith (Janet) Herman of Macedon; nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother, Clifford Herman.

Sawyer, Ruben - Ruben Sawyer, 80, of Newark died July 10, 2003. Ruben was born October 7, 1922 in Brushton, a son of Frank and Rose Oaks Sawyer. He enjoyed the outdoors, TV, music, baseball games, sports and being around people. He is survived by a niece, Katherine Oaks of Bracher Falls; and by staff and friends at 103 Cobblestone Terrace, Newark. Ruben was predeceased by his sister Annabelle Sawyer. A graveside service was held in Syracuse.

Krampas, Alphonse - Alphonse R. Krampas, Sr., 48, of Marion, died July 14, 2003. He was predeceased by his mother, Valeria. He is survived by his loving wife Melissa; a daughter, Felicia DiCesare; a son, Alphonse Krampas, Jr.; father, Alfonse Krampas; a brother, Ronald Krampas; a sister, Christina (Terrill) Reiss; nieces and nephews and loving family.

Coye, Dr. 'Nate' - Dr. Elmer Nathan 'Nate' Coye, 81, of Southern Pines, NC died June 12, 2003, in St. Joseph of the Pines. Dr. Coye was an Army veteran of World War II and was a veterinarian in Lyons before retiring. Dr. Coye is survived by his wife, Mary F. Coye of Southern Pines; two sons, the Rev. Thomas R. Coye of Irvington, VA and Terry R. Coye of Takoma Park, MD; a brother, Gerald H. Coye of Rochester; and two grandchildren. He was a member of Community Presbyterian Church in Pinehurst, NC.

VanLare, Kathleen - Kathleen VanLare, 84, of Green Valley, AZ, formerly of Newark, died July 15, 2003 at St. Joseph's Hospital in Tucson. Kathleen was born in Ontario, Canada on February 24, 1919, to Charles and Ada Fletcher Aplin, Sr. She was an Avon representative for many years. She and her husband moved to Tucson 30 years ago. She is survived by her husband, Peter of Green Valley, AZ; a sister, Leona (John) Sheetz of East Rochester; sister-in-law, Mary Aplin of Palmyra; nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by three brothers, Charles Jr., Albert and Henry Aplin, and a sister, Mary Bult. Interment in the East Newark Cemetery.

Kuhlman, Carol - Carol D. Kuhlman, 45, of Lembke Road, Lyons died July 15, 2003 at Newark Hospital. Carol was born August 7, 1957 in Newark, to Russell and Yvonne Miller Kuhlman. She worked at Newark Hospital for 27 years as a LPN. Carol enjoyed reading, playing the New York State Lottery and animals. Carol is survived by sisters Lori (David) Kuhlman-Horton of Phelps and Kimberly Kuhlman and her friend Dale McNeilly of Savannah; brother Thomas (Barbara) Kuhlman of Newark; nephews Jason W. Allen, Klint E. Kuhlman, Thor R. Baker, Cree C. Baker, Heath D. Baker, Dean A. DeSain, Michael A. DeSain; great-nephew Kody M. DeSain; aunts, uncles and cousins. Carol was predeceased by her father Russell on May 23, 1987, mother Yvonne on September 13, 2001, and sister Debra Baker in August 14, 1996.

Wells, Douglas - Douglas Wells, 52, of Newark, died suddenly July 14, 2003 at Newark Hospital. Doug was born December 5, 1950 in Fulton to Donald and Dorothy Shaver Wells. Doug is survived by his father Donald Wells; brothers Stephen (Rose), David (Karen) and Ronald (Joyce) Wells; sisters Deborah (William) Smith, Patti (William) Rylander, Julie (Donald) Nichols, Mary (William) Forbes and Amy (Joel) Bendoloski; many nieces, nephews, staff and friends at 101 Cobblestone Terrace. Interment will be in Connecticut at the convenience of the family.

Blanch, Arthur - Arthur R. Blanch, 67, of Lyons died July 16, 2003. Art served a term as Lyons Town Supervisor, was active in the Democratic Party, and had worked for the New York Central Railroad. He is survived by his wife Gilda Marro Blanch; sisters Barbara (Dick) Smith, and Judy (Jim) Tuck of Lyons; nieces and nephews. He was predeceased in 1995 by his daughter Kim Heidenreich; and by his parents Louise and Arthur Blanch; in-laws Antoinette and Anthony Marro.

Schleede, Vernon - Vernon H. Schleede, 92, of Lyons, died July 16, 2003. He operated Schleede Farm Supply for more than 50 years. He was a member of the NYS and National Farm Equipment Dealers Assn. He is survived by his daugher Karen L. (Oscar) Kirchoff; a son Maurice (Sharon) of Lyons; five grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, one niece, one nephew. He was predeceased in November 1991 by his wife Marian.

Monje, Hazel - Hazel Monje, 87, of Newark died July 8, 2003 at the Wayne County Nursing Home. Hazel was born February 13, 1916 in Elmont, Kansas to Jacob and Minnie Buechner Collier. She had worked at Monje Brothers Corp. in Newark as a bookkeeper for several years. Mrs. Monje was a member of Park Presbyterian Church in Newark. She was involved with the Newark VFW for over 50 years and proudly served as President of the Wayne County VFW. She is survived by her son, Jack (Pensri Toy) Monje of Florida; daughter-in-law Marilyn Monje of Newark; six grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson; brother, Ralph Collier of Palmyra and his friend Janice Young; sister, Gladys Ryckbost of Newark; many nieces and nephews. Mrs. Monje was predeceased in 1985 by her husband Joseph Monje, by her son Terry Monje, grandson Teddy Monje, brothers Raymond and Harold, and a sister, Lucile VerHeecke. Interment in Newark Cemetery.

Bouwens, Alma - Alma L. Bouwens, 74, of Newark, died July 7, 2003 at Newark Hospital. Alma was born August, 3, 1928 in Junius Ponds, to Charles and Gladys Hill Rahm. She retired from Newark Developmental Center with 17 years of service as an attendant. She was a former member of the VFW Auxiliary and a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church in Newark. She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Franklin A.; two sons, Franklin (Angela) Jr. of Spencerport and Gordon (Wanda) of Palmyra; eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; two half sisters, Frances and Audrey of Waterloo; nieces, nephews and friends. She was predeceased by a sister, Ruth C. Cole, and by her son Terry on December 28, 1999. Interment in the East Newark Cemetery.

Kroh, Keith - Keith Kroh, 70, of Palmyra, died July 1, 2003 at Clifton Springs Hospital. Keith was born August 8, 1932 in Bradford, PA to Harold and Freda Forbes Kroh. He and the former Betty Nighan were married on July 15, 1953 in Honeoye. Together they operated the Kroh Bar Restaurant in Palmyra for many years. Mr. Kroh was a member of the F&AM. He was a veteran of the United States Army and a member of the James R. Hickey American Legion Post # 120 and the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #6778. The funeral home flew the United States Army flag in honor of his service to his country. Mr. Kroh is survived by his daughters, Kelly Larsen of Palmyra and Kerry (Steve) Johnson of Marion; and two grandchildren. He was predeceased by Betty on September 2, 2002 and his sister, Connie Wall. Iinterment in St. Anne's Cemetery, Palmyra. Military honors were accorded at the gravesite.

Gorgione, Carl - Carl Gorgione of Elmira and Newark died July 2, 2003 at DeMay Living Center. Interment, East Newark Cemetery. Carl will be missed by may friends at DeMay Living Center including Shelly Evans.

Blanch, Louise - Louise Blanch, 88, of Lyons died Sunday July 6, 2003 at the Wayne County Nursing Home. Mrs. Blanch was born Jan. 10, 1915 in Clyde, the daughter of Rocco and Angeline Jammerino DiSanto. She had worked for 20 years for National Biscuit Co. in Lyons before they closed. She then worked as a nurse's aide at the Wayne County Nursing Home for another 20 years until her retirement. Louise was a communicant of St. Michael's Church. She was also a member of the Golden Agers. Louise was the caregiver of the family and a loving mother, wife, grandmother and great-grandmother. She is survived by a son, Arthur (Gilda) Blanch; two daughters, Barbara (Richard) Smith and Judy (James) Tuck, all of Lyons; six grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren; a brother, Henry (Angie) DiSanto of Clyde; three sisters, Emma Quartaro of Shortsville, Lucy Ubergo of Newark, Florene Kowalczyk of Syracuse; nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Arthur in 1991; a granddaughter, Kim Heidenreich; sisters, Alice Bennett and Mamie DeAugustine; and brothers, Joseph Blanch and Rocco Blanch. Interment in South Lyons Cemetery.

Main, Christina - Christina L. Main, 82, of Phelps, died July 7, 2003 at the Clifton Springs Hospital. Christina was born May 16, 1921, in Murraytown, PA to the late Henry and Katherine Cahill Palmer. She was a member of St. Francis Church and the Phelps Golden Agers. She is survived by her husband Clinton J. Main, of Phelps; three sons, Michael (Sheri) Main of Elmira Heights, John J. (Rita) Main of Newark, Paul (Jackie) Main of Newark; five grandchildren; sister, Kathryn Palmer of Elmira; brother, Francis Palmer of Elmira; sister-in-law, Madeline Palmer of Elmira; nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her brother, James Palmer.
