Snyder, Joan H. - Joan H. Snyder, of Palmyra, died on December 30, 2005 at age 72. Predeceased by her husband James H. Snyder. She is survived by her sons, Gregory Snyder of Seattle WA, Jeffrey (Carolyn Reiners) Snyder of Newtown, CT, Jonathan (Alice Austin) Snyder of Philadelphia, PA; grandchildren, Ben, Charlotte, James, Paul; and many friends. All are invited to attend her Memorial Service 11 a.m. Saturday at Zion Episcopal Church, Palmyra. Donations may be made to American Cancer Society, Lollypop Farm or Historic Palmyra in her memory. Fowler, Doris W. (Weeks) - Doris W. (Weeks) Fowler, of Williamson died Friday, December 30, 2005. Doris was approaching her 102nd Birthday on January 20, 2006. Doris resided at the Village of Parkridge for ten years and the last eight months she resided with her grandniece, Mary Ellen Dunning and family of Chili. Before moving to Rochester she resided in Williamson. She had a teaching career of 38 years, twenty of which was at the Williamson Central School where she retired. Life member of the Williamson United Methodist Church. Predeceased by her husband, Horace Fowler in 1979 and grandniece, Patricia (Caster) Ricci. Survived by her loving family, niece, Joyce (Charles) Eaton; nephew, Edward (Ellen) Caster; grandnieces and grandnephews, Catherine (Ronald) Platt, Jeffrey (Vicky) Eaton, Mary Ellen (Robert) Dunning, Ted (Cheryle) Caster; 11 great-grandnieces and nephews and a great-great-grandnephew. At her request calling hours will not be observed and the courtesy of no flowers. Bombard, Nancy J. - Nancy J. Bombard, 64, of Sodus died December 31, 2005. Born Sept. 11, 1941 in Binghamton, daughter of Francis and Ida Ehrets Beecher. Survived by her husband of 19 years, James; daughter, Debra (Steve) Gravino of Newark; 8 brothers, Harry (Helen), David (Nancy), Francis (Donna), Charles (Carol), Duanne (Betty), Marshall (Sherry), John, and Doug Beecher; 4 sisters, Beverly (George) Cline, Pat (Wayne) Fernald, Diane (Robert) Smolinsky, Cathy (Donny) Osmon; nieces, nephews. VerStraete, Bill - William Edward 'Bill' VerStraete, 61, of Newark/Marbletown, died suddenly on December 30, 2005 at Sacred Heart Medical Center in Santa Rosa, Florida. Bill was born on January 14, 1944 in Clifton Springs, the son of Edward and Marcia VerDehem VerStraete. He graduated from Newark High School in 1962 and then received an Associate degree from Rochester Institute of Technology. Bill retired in 2002 from Tennessee Gas Pipeline Co. in Clifton Springs. Recently he has been driving a tar truck for DeCann Distributing of Newark. Bill was a charter member of the Marbletown Vol. Fire Dept. and had served twice as Fire Chief. He was also a member of the Wayne County Chiefs Assn. and Northern Central Fire Assn. He was a driver/medic for many years for the Newark-Arcadia Vol. Ambulance and had served on many committees and on the Board of Directors. Bill had a good sense of humor and enjoyed helping people in need. He and his wife loved camping and spending the winters in Florida. Bill will be remembered and missed by his loving wife of 40 years, Joyce Poole VerStraete; son Gary (Michelle) VerStraete of Newark; daughter Kathy (Jeff) Fyock of Florida; four grandchildren, Kyle and Brian VerStraete, Katie and Andrew Fyock; his parents, Edward and Marcia VerStraete of Newark; brother Fred of Missouri; sisters Diana Tormey and Susan House, both of Newark and Jo Ann Stransky of Florida; several nieces and nephews. Janto, Harold A. - Harold A. Janto, 89, died Wednesday (Dec. 28, 2005) at his home of 33 years in Egg Harbor Town, N.J. Friends may call from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday (Jan. 1) at the Paul L. Murphy & Sons Funeral Home, 127 E. Miller St., Newark. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Monday (Jan. 2) at St. Michael's Church, with the Rev. Peter Clifford officiating. Burial will be in Newark Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Michael's School, 320 S. Main St., Newark 14513; or to Atlantic City Medical Center Hospice, P.O. Box 1626, Pleasantville, NJ 08232. Mr. Janto was born Feb. 13, 1916 in Clyde, the son of Anthony and Nellie Capone Janto. He grew up in Clyde, graduating from the Clyde School System. In his younger years, he worked for Bloomer Brothers and St. Michael's School. He went on to become the athletic trainer at St. John Fisher College in Rochester and the Atlantic Community College in Mays Landing, NJ. Harold was a communicant of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Somers Point, NJ. When in Newark, he belonged to St. Michael's Church, where he was active with the Catholic Youth Organization, coaching St. Michael's basketball teams. He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Angeline Marro Janto; daughter, Carole (Donn) Iddings of Newark; son, Randy (Mary Lee) Janto of Ocean City, NJ; six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; sister, Margaret Paliotti of Lyons; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents; and sister, Anna Musso.

Guchone, Frank S. - Frank S. Guchone, 94, of Newark, died Thursday (Dec. 29, 2005) at the House of John in Clifton Springs. Friends may call from 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday (Jan. 1) at the Paul L. Murphy & Sons Funeral Home, 127 E. Miller St., Newark. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9 a.m. Monday (Jan. 2) at St. Michael's Church, South Main Street in Newark, with the Rev. Peter Clifford officiating. Burial will be in Newark Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the House of John, 14 Spring St., Clifton Springs, NY 14432. Mr. Guchone was born Sept. 10, 1911 in Islon, PA, the son of John Sa Franiec and Mary Pruzenska. In his earlier years, Frank was a sharecrop farmer, and for 20 years, he was a carpenter at the New York Central Railroad Car Shop, retiring in 1970. He then worked as a self-employed carpenter and a mechanic, repairing motorcycles. He was a member of the Wayne County Motorcycle Club. He is survived by two sons, Francis E. Guchone of Newark, William (Rosemary) Guchone of East Palmyra; two daughters, Merikay Byrd of Henrietta and Cecile (Francis) Ruffalo of Newark; 17 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; brother, John Guchone of West Seneca; a sister, Anne Rumsey of East Bloomfield; many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a grandson, Teddy Guchone; and a sister, Mary.

Payne, Louise C. - Louise C. Payne, 90, of County Road 7 in Shortsville, died December 9, 2005 at Strong Memorial after an accidental fall. Friends and family called at the Patrick Funeral Home, Clifton Springs. A Mass of Christian Burial was held at St. Felix Church, Clifton Springs. Interment in St. Agnes Cemetery. Louise was born July 15, 1915 in Rochester, the daughter of the late Paul and Elvira Finewood, and had lived in the area all her life. She was a member of St. Felix Church for many years and served as a member of the Pastoral Council. She was also a member of the Altar and Rosary Society. She was an avid bingo player and helped run St. Felix Church's bingo hall for many years. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She took great pride in keeping her lawn and property in immaculate condition. Louise's chronological age might have been 90 years, but in mind and spirit she wasn't a day over 70. She will be sadly missed by all of her loving friends ad family. She is survived by her son, Roger 'Pinky' Payne of Clifton Springs; daughter, Janet (Bob) Reed of Stanardsville, VA; granddaughter, Kiran (Timothy) Woodson; grandson, Jay; great-granddaughter, Amber and another great-grandchild on the way; nieces, Jean, Lois, and Arlene and nephew, Bob. She was predeceased by her husband, Alden Payne in 1999. Jackson, Nathaniel - Nathaniel Jackson 58, Sodus died December 25, 2005. Survived by his wife Elsheray, 10 children, several grandchildren, four brothers, six sisters, aunts uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, brothers-in law, sisters-in-law, many friends. Votra, Cheryl A. (Hyman) - Cheryl A. (Hyman) Votra, 46, died Thursday, Dec. 29, 2005. Family and friends are invited to call from 1-5pm on Saturday, December 31 at the Robert L. Cheryl was born March 7, 1959 to Donald and Alice Porter Hyman. She was a 1978 graduate of Newark High School and a member of the Port Gibson United Methodist Church. Cheryl was a devoted mother, spending much of her time attending her son's sporting events and other activities and cheering on their favorite football teams. Cheryl is survived by her sons Clayton and Carson Votra; father Donald C. Hyman of Webster; sisters Donna C. (George) Nichols and family of KS, Pamela J. (Ken) Marsteiner of Lyons and Mary A. Adams of Newark; nephew Matthew Adams; and the father of her children, Clifford Votra of Geneva. Cheryl was predeceased by her mother Alice Hyman on September 25, 2001.

Sweaton, Harley A. - Harley A. Sweaton, 62, of Palmyra, died unexpectedly Wednesday (Dec. 21, 2005). Family and friends are invited to call today, from 7 to 9 p.m. (Tuesday, Dec. 27) at the Robert L. Yost Funeral Home Inc., 123 W. Main St., Palmyra, where a funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday (Dec. 28). Contributions in memory of Harley may be directed to the Good Neighbor Fund, care of the Rev. Dave Herrmann, 109 Church St., Palmyra, NY 14522. Harley was born Dec. 12, 1943, in Newark. He and the former Christine Mayo were married May 22, 1964, in Clifton Springs. Mr. Sweaton was a retiree of Schlegel Corp. He was, a talented woodworker and avid outdoorsman. Harley is survived by his wife, Christine; daughter, Cynthia (Kenneth) Best; special 'daughter,' Kelly (Robert) Ide and their son Dylan; sister-in-law, Grace Sweaton; special sister-in-law, Lillian Mayo; nephew, Jeremy Sweaton; the Juliano family; and many other beloved family and friends. He was predeceased by his brother, Gordon Sweaton.

Kingsley, Jennie - Jennie S. Kingsley, 86, currently of Galway, died Thursday, Dec. 22, 2005 at the Saratoga Hospital. Friends and family may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 29 at the Weeks-Keysor Funeral Home, 5 Phelps St. in Lyons. A funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Friday, Dec. 30 at the Alton United Methodist Church. Burial will be in the Elmwood Cemetery in Lyons. Memorials may be directed to the Alton United Methodist Church in her memory. Jennie was born June 7, 1919 in Rochester, a daughter to James and Teresa Falzolore Sanzotta. She was an active member of the United Methodist Church, a member of the Penn Yan and Wayne County Council of the Arts, and was known for her many paintings. She is survived by three sons, Paul (Nancy M.) of Farmington, Richard A. (Andrea S.) of Penn Yan and John (Renee) of Galway; one daughter, Sharon (James) Pardo of Florida; nine grandchildren; two sisters, Angie (Gene) Morrell of Wolcott and Julia Ardello of Rochester and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was predeceased by her husband, the Rev. George Kingsley in 1999; two brothers, Dominic and Nicholas and sister, Marian.

Manchester, Guy - Guy T. Manchester, 74, passed away Wednesday, Dec. 7, 2005 while in Palmetto, FL. A graveside service was held at the South Lyons Cemetery with the Rev. Dana Rattray officiating. Contributions may be made to the Town of Lyons Ambulance in his memory. Guy was born March 14, 1931 in Rochester, a son to Harold C. and Bessie M. Gott Manchester. He was a veteran of the Navy from 1948 to 1954, a member of the Lyons VFW Post 5092 and retired from Eastman Kodak in 1983. He is survived by, his wife, Norma Jean; daughter, Cindy (Mike) Dwyer of Rochester; two sons, Tom (Penny) of Kendall and Ronald (Cindy) of Rochester; sister, Trudy Burandt of North Carolina; two stepdaughters, Diane Schetrompf of Lyons and Bonnie (Kenny) Schetrompf of Lyons; many grand-children and great-grandchildren and special niece, Joyce (Don) Deverell. Krebbs, Robert - Robert 'Hank' Krebbs, 75, of 82 Wadsworth St., died Friday, Dec. 23, 2005 at Geneva General Hospital. Robert was born Jan. 30, 1930 in Clifton Springs, the son of the late Robert E. and May (Cornish) Krebbs. He worked with the Geneva Department of Public Works for twenty years. He was a Fourth degree member of the Knights of Columbus Council #272 and St. Francis de Sales Church. Robert was a devoted husband and father and enjoyed working in the yard. He is survived by his wife, Rose (Ficcaglia) Krebbs, three sons, Michael (Julie) Krebbs and Charlie Krebbs both of Geneva and Robert Krebbs of Brockport; sisters, Ruth (Allen) Tauterouff of Geneva, Dorothy (Don) Hallock of Newark and Marty (Harry) McCormick of Canandaigua; three grandchildren, Robert, Sara and Catherine; one great-grandchild, Camron and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a brother, Charles. Funeral services were held this morning at Palmisano Funeral Home followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Francis de Sales Roman Catholic Church. Entombment in St. Mary's Mausoleum. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be sent to St. Francis de Sales Church.

Burke, Virginia - Virginia May Burke, 79, of Lembke Road, Lyons, died Dec. 22, 2005 at the Newark-Wayne Community Hospital. Family and friends may call today, Dec. 26, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Norman L. Waterman Funeral Home, Inc., 124 W. Miller St., Newark. A Funeral Service will be Tuesday (Dec. 27) at 10 a.m. at Maranatha Baptist Church, 8721 Travell Rd., Lyons. Private burial will be in the East Newark Cemetery. In memory of Mrs. Burke, please direct contributions to the church. She was a Certified Nurse's Aid, working at Lakeshore Nursing Home and St. Elizabeth Nursing Home. She also did private individual care in their homes. She enjoyed working on word search puzzles, sitting in the sun, animals (dogs & cats) and watching family shows on TV. Mrs. Burke is survived by her daughters, Rita (Richard) Conte of Rochester, Carol (James) Collier of Lyons and Evelyn (Paul) Miller of Albany; eight grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren; sisters Helen (Albert) Wright, Audrey (Chick) Clemens, Joyce Roskey, Marion Sperry, Laura Martone and Evelyn Quillan; step-mother Norma Roskey; nieces and nephews. Mrs. Burke was predeceased by her husband Franklin Burke in 1995; brothers Dick and Ed Roskey.

Coffman, Shirley Ann - Shirley Ann Coffman, 67, of Newark, died December 20, 2005 at Rochester General Hospital. Shirley was born March 30, 1938, daughter of Leon and Florence Eckler Mallaber. Shirley was a graduate of Red Jacket High School and a member of National Honor Society. She was an Executive secretary at Eastman Kodak; later, she was branch manager of Public Abstract in Lyons for 18 years. She was a member of Palmyra Moose Club and enjoyed playing shuffleboard. She is survived by her daughter, Ginny (Jared) Hall of Wolcott; two sons, Douglas Pappert of Farmington and David Pappert of Rochester; brother Leigh Mallaber of Shortsville; granddaughter Sydney Madison Hall; nieces and nephews. She was predeceased in March 1993 by her husband, Joe. Calling December 28, 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Schulz-Pusateri Funeral Home, 103 Maple Court, Newark, where services will be at 1 p.m. Interment will be in Mt. Hebron Cemetery, Sutton, West Virginia. Richardson, Bernard J. - Bernard J. Richardson, 82, of Lyons/Marion, died December 19, 2005. He was a retired farmer. He is survived by his son, James Richardson of Warsaw; daughter, Joyce Richardson of Lynn Haven, Florida; 5 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great grandson; brother, Elwin (Barbara) Richardson of Kirkville, NY. He was predeceased by his wife, Madelyn (Coppens) Richardson in 2000; son Capt. Jerry B. Richardson in 1976, and parents, Elwin and Bernyce Richardson. Musolino, Elizabeth Hattie - Elizabeth Hattie Musolino, 79, of East Miller Street, Newark, died Saturday, December 17, 2005 at Rochester General Hospital. Friends called at Schulz-Pusateri Funeral Home, 103 Maple Ct., Newark, where services were held yesterday with the Rev. Gerald Harris. Spring burial in Cato Union Cemetery. Elizabeth was born in Cato, May 27, 1926. She worked at Seneca Foods in her earlier years. She was a member of the AVSO of the VFW of Newark. She played the banjo years ago. Survived by her many friends at the Newark High Rise. Predeceased by her husband Anthony in 1998.

Chilson, Barbara (Gibbons) - Barbara (Gibbons) Chilson, 82, of Marion, died December 20, 2005. She was a member of the Second Reformed Church of Marion. Emper, John O. - John O. Emper, 64, of Newark, died Tues., Dec. 20, 2005 at his home. Mr. Emper was born May 2, 1941 in Camden, NY, the son of O'Neil and Dorothy Teelin Emper. After graduating from Newark High School in 1960, John served with the U.S. Army. For many years he was a supervisor with Con-Rail, retiring on disability in 1984. John was a member of both the Newark Rod and Gun Club and the Lyons Rod and Gun Club. Father Peter Clifford will offer a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. on Friday, Dec. 23 at St. Michael's Church, South Main St., Newark. The family is served by the Paul L. Murphy & Sons Funeral Home, 127 East Miller St., Newark. He is survived by his wife, Judith Lopez Emper, two sons, Christopher and Matthew Emper, both of West Allis, WI; a daughter, Victoria (David) Gordner of Stanley; two grandchildren, Bart and Annika Martin; and half brother, Jeff Perkins of Waterloo. Mrs. Engels had worked in the cafeteria in the Newark Schools for a few years and then turned her attention to giving loving care to her husband and children. She enjoyed gardening, cooking and baking. Mrs. Engels was a member of Park Presbyterian Church in Newark since 1938. She was also a member of the Eastern Star Amitie Chapter 473. Mrs. Engels will be remembered by her daughter and son-in-law Marcia and Frederick Fowler of Brockport; son, David Engels and his friend Becky both of Newark; grandchildren Michael and Dara Fowler of Greece, NY and Kathleen and Sean Morgan of Goshen, NY; great-grandson Daniel Frederick Morgan; brother-in-law Orville Martin of Newark; several nieces and nephews; many faithful friends. Mrs. Engels was predeceased by her husband Caryl N. Engels on Nov. 3, 1997.

Sherman, Marilyn P. - Marilyn Pulver Sherman, 77, of Palm Harbor, FL and formerly of Newark, died Saturday, December 17, 2005. There will be no prior calling hours. Mrs. Sherman was born the daughter of the late Charles and Ruth Corrigan Pulver on September 18, 1928 in Newark, NY. She was a graduate of Newark High School and Syracuse University. She and her late husband, Robert Sherman, were the owners of Sherman/Sherman on W. Maple Ave. in Newark, where she worked as an architect. Mrs. Sherman enjoyed crossword puzzles, painting watercolors and traveling. Mrs. Sherman will be remembered by her son Mark and Donna Sherman; daughters Nancy, Sandy, Janet and Linda Sherman; two grandchildren.

Pagnattaro, Peter (K2MDN) - Peter P. Pagnattaro, 78, of Newark, died December 14, 2005 at Strong Memorial Hospital. He was born February 25, 1927, the son of the late Frank and Jennie (Lipari) Pagnattaro. He was a lifelong member of St. Michael's Church, American Legion and V.F.W. He enjoyed his 'Ham' radio hobby and was a member of Drumlins Amateur Radio Club. He retired in 1985, after being a letter carrier for 37 years at the Newark Post Office. Peter is loved and will be missed by his wife of 49 years, Marian (Chamberlin) and two daughters - Marisa Anne (John Beasley) Pagnattaro of Watkinsville, GA, and Scilla Pagnattaro (Robert) Gadjo of St. Petersburg, FL; four grandchildren, Simone and Sophia Beasley, Samuel and Olivia Gadjo; sister Mary Muscolino; sister-in-law Doris Polakiewicz and several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was pre-deceased by his brother, Anthony Muscolino. There will be a funeral mass at 9:30 a.m. Saturday (December 17) at St. Michael's Church in Newark. Tellier, Edward T. Jr. - Edward Thomas Tellier Jr., 62, of Newark, died Wednesday, December 14, 2005 at the DeMay Living Center. Hoeffner, Phillip Jim J. - Phillip Jim J. Hoeffner, 56, of Lyons, died Monday, December 12, 2005. Jim was born January 11, 1949, in Penn Yan, son of George and Elma Mortensen Hoeffner. He was a machine set up operator for 37 years for Parker Hannifin Co. in Lyons. He was a life member of Lyons Rod and Gun Club and a member of American War Dads of VFW of Lyons. He loved to hunt and fish. He is survived by his father, George Hoeffner of Spokane, Washington; his son, Paul (June) of Wolcott; his daughter, Penny (David) Ketcham of Oswego; two brothers, Karl and Russell of Red Creek; three sisters, Sharon Crocker of Clyde, Linda Pusey of Wolcott and Mary Swinehart of Washington; four grandchildren; and nieces and nephews. Farrington, Jeffrey J. - Jeffrey J. Farrington, 43, of Williamson, died unexpectedly Monday, December 12. Jeff lived a rich and fulfilled life that will be considered much too short by all who knew him. Espenmiller, Howard P. - Howard P. Espenmiller, 89, of Middletown, Ohio, died November 5, 2005. Howard was born December 25, 1916 in Newark, NY, the son of Charles B. and Belle Pulver Espenmiller. He graduated from Newark High School in 1934 and was quarterback on the football team. He graduated from Syracuse University School of Forestry. He served a short time in World War II and worked as an engineer for Black Clawson Co. in the paper and pulp division. His work took him to many places in the U.S., S. America and the British Isles. He belonged to the Lions Club and the American Legion and was an active church member. He was predeceased by sisters Esther and Luceba, and brothers Bernhard, Allen and Russell. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Beatrice; three daughters, Diane (David) Aspinall from Fayetteville, NC, Joyce (James) Felski, Buffalo, Mary Lou (Douglas) Shockley, Middletown, OH; seven grandchildren, and sister Ruth E. Werts. Memorial services were held November 9, 2005 in Middletown, Ohio. Burial services will be held in August 2006 at the Espenmiller plot in the Marion, NY cemetery.

Evans, Betty L. - Betty L Evans, 77, of Ontario St., Phelps, died Friday, December 9, 2005, at her home. Mrs. Evans was born June 10, 1928, in Shawmut, Penn., the daughter of the late John and Alice Keller Carr. She retired after 20 years of service with the Newark Developmental Center. The most important thing in Betty's life was her family. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She was predeceased by husband, Frederick Evans. She is survived by her son, Harry T. Huff, Lawrence - Lawrence J. Huff, 79, of Sodus, died December 8, 2005. He is survived by his wife Helen, daughter Bonnie (Stanley) Speers, two grandsons and five great-grandchildren; two sisters, Marion Thomas of Wolcott and Sandra (Earl) Ferguson of North Rose; brother Roy (Ginnett) Huff of Delaware; three sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews. Porschet, Lois - Lois (Gage) Porschet, 93, of Sodus, died December 9, 2005. One of triplets, Lois was born April 9, 1912 in Ontario, to Harley and Ella Allen Gage. She was predeceased by her parents, her husband John, brothers, Harley, Floyd, Ralph and Jason; and her sisters, Evelyn and Laura. She is survived by three sons: James (Kathy) of Florida, Douglas (A.J.), and John (Sandy), all of Sodus; five grandchildren, two great-grandsons, nieces and nephews. She was a Registered Nurse for many years. Lois was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, Lyons Ward. Furguson, Gilbert John - Gilbert John Furguson, 82, a resident of Ashburn, Virginia since 2000, died Thursday December 8, 2005 in Leesburg, Virginia, Mr. Furguson is survived by his beloved wife of 60 years, Mildred M. Smith Furguson of Ashburn, Virginia; a daughter Linda and Gordy Lehr of Ashburn, VA; son Larry and Debbie Furguson of Marion, NY; four sisters, Irene Eichinger, Betty Sessler, Judy Schultz all of Zephyrhills, FL, Alice Vohs of Sumter, SC; five grandchildren, Lorraine Giles, Kristin Bolayir, Rob Lehr, Chad Furguson, Brett Furguson; four great-grandchildren, Kristina Giles, Haley Furguson, Selin Bolayir, Conner Furguson; and a host of other relatives and friends. In addition to his parents, Mr. Furguson was predeceased by his three brothers: Rollin, Gordon and Robert Furguson. Memorial Services will be held at 3 on Sunday December 11, at the Loudoun Funeral Chapel, 158 Catoctin Circle S.E., Leesburg, Virginia with Pastor Dave Norman officiating. A private interment will follow at a later date in Arlington National Cemetery, Arlington, Virginia with military honors. Mr. Furguson was born October 11, 1923 in Sterling, NY, to the late Arlington J. and Addie Miner Furguson. He served his country during WWII in the U.S. Army. Mr. Furguson retired in 1982 as an expeditor for the Eastman Kodak Company, Rochester. He was an avid bowler, bowling with the Odd Fellows for many years in Sodus. Mr. Furguson was a member of the Palmyra Second Reform Church, and attended the Ashburn United Methodist Church since moving to Virginia. Ricci, Genevieve L. 'GiGi' - Genevieve Maugiri Ricci, 89, died Monday, December 5, 2005, at Newark-Wayne Community Hospital. Mrs. Ricci was born on April 26, 1916, in Geneva, New York, the daughter of Anthony and Margaret Legott Maugiri. She worked for several years at McCurdy's in Geneva and retired from the Newark Development Center in 1978. GiGi was a member of St. Michael's Church, the Top of the Hill Retirees and AARP. She lived with her daughter Helen until moving to the Armstrong Senior Living and then the DeMay Living Center. GiGi enjoyed traveling in her retirement, having visited Italy, Hawaii, Mexico, Mardi Gras in both New Orleans and Rio de Janeiro. She truly enjoyed Bingo and spending that time with her many friends. GiGi is predeceased by her husband Frank in 1965, three sisters Margaret Hacker, Mary Greco, and Helen Hornack, a brother Anthony Maugiri. She is survived by two daughters Helen (Peter) Blandino of Newark and Margaret (Wayne) Bullivant of Ithaca, granddaughter Rosemarie Bullivant, a sister Rose Smith of Geneva and a sister-in-law Frances (Ricci) Bardley, many nieces and nephews and special friends. No prior calling hours. Funeral services will be private with burial in St. Patrick's Cemetery in Geneva. The family is being served by the Paul L. Harko, Leokadja (Lydia) - Leokadja (Lydia) Harko, 101, of Newark, died December 5, 2005 at the DeMay Living Center. Lydia was born March 5, 1904 in Poland, the daughter of Sebastian and Anna Wal. She emigrated to the United States in 1949 with her husband and children, first living in Eudora, Arkansas, then moving to Newark in 1953. She worked at Wayne Floral until her retirement. She is survived by her daughter Christine Jaworski of Newark; son, Wesley (Joyce) Harko of Fort Worth, TX; daughter-in-law Edaree Harko of Newark; grandchildren Barbara (James) O'Connell of Newark; Sandra (Gerard) D'Huy of Baldwinsville; Rhonda (Michael) Cotto of Port Gibson; Mark (Cole) Harko, Timothy Harko, and Trenia (Johnny) Miller, all of TX; 12 great-grandchildren. Predeceased by her husband, Joseph; son, Richard; son-in-law, Frank Jaworski; and 2 brothers and 3 sisters in Poland. She operated a muck farm with her late husband, Maurice until his death in 1957. Nellie then sold real estate in Newark until her retirement, at which time she moved to Florida. She is survived by nieces and nephews Janet DeBurk of Williamson, Judy (Joseph) Peters of Newark, Susan (Roger) Miller of N. In 1940 she married Michael DiSanto, who predeceased her in 1980. For a brief period she was employed by her husband's company, N.M. DiSanto Co. of Clyde. Jane then worked for over 40 years for Scriber's Pharmacy in Clyde. She was a lifetime member of St. John's Church and a member of the Catholic Daughters of America Gleason Court. She enjoyed cooking, gardening and loved to dance. Jane had a wonderful sense of humor and energy that will be missed by those who loved her. She is survived by her sons, James (Judy) DiSanto of Indianapolis, IN, and David (Helene) DiSanto of Fairfax, VA, her daughter, Karen (Steven) Pajak, of Providence, RI., her grandchildren Michael, David, Jeffrey, Kristen, Stephanie and Ryan, her great-grandchildren Emma Jane, Natalie and Carly, her brother Michael Garnell of Clyde, her sister Evelyn Giarnelli of Newark, and several nieces and nephews. Besides her husband she was pre-deceased by her brother Frank Garnell, and her sisters, Mary DiRenzo, Anna Nicoletta, Rose Giarnelli and Virginia Saltzburg.

Craig, Duane D. 'Speedy' - Duane D. 'Speedy' Craig, age 62, of Layton St., Lyons, died Monday, November 28, 2005 at home. Duane was born in Clifton Springs on September 7, 1943. He was a member of the Palmyra Moose Lodge, Sons of the American Legion in Lyons, and was employed at Seneca Foods in Marion as a fork lift operator. Predeceased by his mother, Josephine Slocum Craig. Survived by his wife Dorothy Craig of 43 years; 3 children, Carol (Michael) Bump of KY, Dorothy (Robert) Larkin of Henrietta, Donald Craig of Lyons; 3 grandchildren, Michelle, Jennifer and Tyler; 1 great-granddaughter, Alexus; 3 great-grandsons, Scottie, Tony, and Darren; 3 brothers; 1 sister; and special friends. Hartman, Jeffery Todd - Jeffery Todd Hartman, 40, of Lyons, lost a long courageous battle with cancer on Monday, November 28, 2005. Jeff was born in Lyons on July 22, 1965 to Bernard and Doris O'Connor Olsheske. For many years Jeff worked in the tele-communications tower industry throughout the Northeast, working as a site Foreman erecting some of the first tele-communications towers in the area. Jeff was an avid snowmobiler and was an avid NASCAR fan and enjoyed every aspect of cars. Predeceased by his grandparents, Harold and Georgia O'Connor, and Howard Olsheske; Aunts, Barbara Molsoni and Marjorie Bullock, and Uncle Harold Secor. He is survived by his wife, Rebecca (Ferrell) Hartman; 4 sons; 2 daughters; mother, Doris (Jeffrey) Barnhart; father, Bernard Olsheske; grandmother, Edna Olsheske; a brother; 2 sisters; 3 aunts; 3 uncles; several nieces and nephews; good friends, Darlene Smith, Keaundrea Maurisha, Steve Ridder, and Deborah Ferrell. Scarcelli, Joseph - Joseph A. Scarcelli, 88, of Lyons, died Nov. 26, 2005 at the Wayne County Nursing Home. Joe was born June 1, 1917, in Lyons, a son to Louis and Philomena Scarcelli. He was a veteran of World War II, having served in the Army Infantry and retired from American Can in Geneva as a machinist. Noble, Cynthia - Cynthia A. Noble, 62, formerly of Clyde and Newark, died November 23, 2005 at the Clifton Springs Hospital and Clinic. Cynthia was born June 1, 1943, daughter of Raymond and Teresa Braccio Noble. She was a resident of Newark for three years, and she lived in Clyde for more than 56 years. She was the Human Resource Director of the Newark Manor Nursing Home, where she worked for over 31 years. She was a member of St. John the Evangelist Church in Clyde, and was a member and leader of the local chapter of the Junior Catholic Daughters of America. She was also a member of St. John's choir, and she taught religion in St. John's school. Cindy was an avid bowler. She is survived by her sister, Angeline (George) VonFuchs of Renton, Wash.; two nephews, Kurt VonFuchs of Seattle and Erik VonFuchs of Duvall, Washington; two nieces, four step-nieces and step-nephews; aunts, uncles, and cousins. Funeral arrangements were made by the Baris Funeral Home in Clyde. Her Mass was held at St. John the Evangelist Roman Catholic Church, with the Rev. James Hewes officiating. Schultz, Harold - Harold C. Schultz, 81, died November 23, 2005. He was a member of the Walworth United Methodist Church, where his memorial service was held. Pease, Thomas - Thomas H. Pease, 74, of Williamson, died November 23, 2005 at his home. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict from 1950-52 in the 13th Airborne Ranger Company. Retired from Xerox Corp. as a Senior Mechanical Designer. Beman, Mildred - Mildred 'Millie' Alice Beman, 74, of Lyons, died November 22, 2005 at Rochester General Hospital. She was born April 22, 1931 in Pittsfield, Massachusetts, daughter of George and Emma Schaffner Batchelder. She was a waitress in her earlier years. She was a tireless worker for Lyons Thrift Shop. She was known for organizing and helping at the Thanksgiving dinners at Lyons Community Center. She attended Calvary Church in Newark. She is survived by two daughters, Cyndi (Philip) Frere of Phelps and Jean (Michael ) Trickey of Tonawanda; two sons, Gerald of Massachusetts and Philip (Jacqueline) of Lyons; 11 grandchildren, four great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews; two brothers, Clark Batchelder and George Batchelder. She was predeceased in 1995 by her husband, Faye; by sisters Mabel and Lillian, and brothers William, Alfred and Robert. Lassalle, Mildred - Mildred Gist Lassalle, 82, of Newark, died November 21, 2005, at DeMay Living Center. Mildred was born December 27, 1922 in Union, South Carolina, daughter of Roscoe and Harper Thomas Gist. She retired in 1981 as a clothing clerk for the Newark State School and was a member of the Top of the Hill Retirement Club. Mildred was predeceased by her husband, German, in 1993; daughter, Denise; and four brothers, Roosevelt, Clarence, Almanas and Randolph Gist. She is survived by two daughters, Yvonne (Isadore) Wilson of Richmond, Virginia, and Darlene Gist of New York City; two grandsons, Duane and Terrence and three great-grandchildren; dear friends, Fadie Smith, Agatha Wallace, Carrie Taylor; and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. Palmateer, Lois - Lois M. Palmateer, 85, of Lyons, died November 21, 2005 in North Carolina. Lois was born April 13, 1920 in Rochester, daughter of Earl and Mabel Strait Sutherland. Lois worked in the cafeteria at Potsdam College, and lived in Harrisville, Star Lake, and Lyons. In her earlier years, she was a member of the Union Hill Methodist Church. She volunteered as a school crossing guard and was a member of the Canandaigua Garden Club, Senior Citizens in Star Lake and Harrisville, was President of Fine Home Bureau and on the Council at Harris Courts. She also did child care in her home. Lois was predeceased in 1974 by her husband, Gordon; by her daughter Kay Cotter and brothers, Gerald Sutherland and Ralph Sutherland. She is survived by her son, Larry (Barbara) Palmateer of Lyons; two daughters, Ann (Ron) Rixon of Moyock, NC, Patricia (Mark) Kelley of Heuvelton; sister, Ruth Bushart of Lyons; 20 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren. Sedore, Ronald - Ronald J. Sedore, Sr., 70, of Sodus, died November 20, 2005, at St. Mary's Hospice in Rochester. He was born September 7, 1935, in Butler, to Vernon and Loretta Secore Sedore. He attended schools in North Rose, Wolcott and New Hampshire. He was a member of the Alton Tabernacle Church, a Marine Corps veteran of the Korean conflict, a member of the American Legion Post 910 in Sodus, and an honorary member of the Alton Fire Department. He was a retired Xerox employee with 32 years of service and worked several years for the New York Central Railroad. He was predeceased by his parents; brothers, Richard and Ralph Sedore; and sister, Beverly McLellan. He is survived by his wife, Jennie; son, Ronald Jr. (Chip); daughter, Michele (Steven) Gates; four grandchildren, Amber, Rebecca and Joseph Gates, and Tara Sedore, all of Sodus; two brothers, Vernon Sedore of Niagara Falls and Raymond (Sharon) Sedore of Manchester; sister, Patricia (Clayton) Kise of SC; mother-in-law, Viola Allen of Sodus; and several aunts, nieces and nephews. Varalli, Angelo A. - Angelo Varalli, 87, formerly of Geneva Street Ext., Lyons, died Saturday, November 19, 2005, at Wayne County Nursing Home. Angelo was born in Lyons on March 14, 1918, the son of James and Carmella DaPolito Varalli. He retired from Conrail as a welder with 43 years of service. Angelo was a former union boss. He was also a Pearl Harbor survivor, where he served in the Navy in World War II. He was a member of St. Michael's Church, serving as an usher, and was a life member of the Lyons VFW Post. Angelo is survived by his wife of 66 years, Agnes Santelli, one son, James (Carole) of Fairport, one daughter, Carmen Grevell of Rochester, five grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, two sisters, Jennie Steve of Clyde, Rose 'Lucy' DiPerry of Florida; several neices and nephews. Predeceased by brothers Daniel and Nicholas and sister, Mary. Friends may call today (Monday) 4-7 at the Boeheim-Pusateri Funeral Home, 77 William Street, Lyons, New York. Mrs. Arbogast was born on July 5, 1934 in Lyons, the youngest of five children of Charles and Pearl Oakleaf Robinson. She was a 1952 graduate of Lyons High School. After her graduation, Shirley worked in the office of Wayne Drug Company, until it closed in 1992. She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Lyons, a charter Member of Marbletown Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary, Past President of Wayne County Fire Association Auxiliary and a life member of the Lyons Rod and Gun Club. Shirley enjoyed camping, fishing and travel. Shirley is survived by two sons, William (Sandy) and David (Jodi) Arbogast, a daughter Pamela (Doug) Townsend all of Newark; four grandchildren, Brian, Sarah, Dori Arbogast and Chelsea Townsend, several nieces and nephews and brother and sister-in-laws. She was predeceased by her parents, her husband of 44 years, Claude, who passed away on Dec. 10, 2000, brothers William, Clifford 'Scoop' and Howard 'Pete' Robinson, a sister Mildred Zeger and a grandson Michael Arbogast.

Nugent, Marianne Elizabeth - Marianne Elizabeth Nugent, of Amherst, died Saturday, Sept. 17, 2005, at Sisters of Charity Hospital in Buffalo following a long illness. She is survived by her daughter, Nancy Johnson; son-in-law, Brian Johnson; and grandchildren, Patrick, 18, and Andrew and Matthew, 13, whom she lived with for the last 17 years. Iddings, Clark L. - Clark L. Iddings, 70, of Mill St., Phelps, died unexpectedly on Tuesday, Nov. 15, 2005, at his home. Mr. Iddings was born Nov. 13, 1935, in Phelps, the son of the late Earnest and Jessie Bement Iddings. He was a Navy veteran serving on the USS Saratoga. Mr. Iddings retired from the town of Pittsford after 33 years of service. He is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Donna Iddings; daughter, Jeanne (George) Davis of Phelps; son, Stephen Iddings of Pittsford; grandson, Jason Hughson; sisters and brothers, Elaine (Gilbert) Ellis of Sodus, Virginia Babcock of Florida, Gary (Alice) Iddings of Newark and Bonnie (David) Opdyke of Florida; and several nieces and nephews. VanDusen, Gerald Steven - Gerald S. VanDusen, 53, of Newark, passed away at Newark-Wayne Community Hospital, Wednesday evening, November 16, 2005. Plyter, Phyllis S. - Phyllis Plyter, 90, died in her home in Sequim, WA on September 20, 2005 of age-related causes. She was born to Joseph and Rose (Fioti) Salatino in Newark, New York on November 25, 1914. She married Vincent H. Plyter on April 24, 1936. Mrs. Plyter moved west to be near her daughter following the death of her son, Norman Vincent Plyter, in 1989. Her husband, a retired postal worker in Newark, died in August 1978. She was also preceded in death by brothers Nick and Dominick Salatino of Pennsylvania and sisters Elizabeth Moyer, Amy Curcio, and Angelina Pizzaruso of Newark. Survivors include daughter and son-in-law Elaine P. Caldwell and Robert L Caldwell of Sequim, WA; sister Mary Chiazza of Newark; two grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. For fourteen years, she worked as a product manager for Mobil Chemical in Macedon. She also had been a tax preparer with H & R Block. As a volunteer with Wayne CAP, Sharon did tax preparations for senior citizens. She was a member of the Park Presbyterian Church where she was a Deacon and an Elder and had been the Director of Christian Education. She was a volunteer with Wayne Intensive Respite, an organization for needy children and was a parent with Wayne County Foster Care. Sharon volunteered at Newark's Lincoln and Middle Schools and was an active member of the high school Lady Red's Soccer and the Alpine Ski Booster Clubs. She was involved on the Shared Decision Making Committee at the Newark Middle School. She was an avid Quilter. Sharon was the glue that held her family together. Wood, James Smith - James Smith Wood, 90 of Crystal River, FL, passed away Sunday October 30, 2005 at Life Care Center in Lecanto, FL. Mr. Wood, son of La Verne and Anna (Smith) Wood, was born December 6, 1914 and grew up in Savannah. He received a BA degree in Business from Colgate University, and served as an officer and navel pilot in the Pacific during WWII. He married Nancy Coates, of Palmyra, in 1946 and moved to Newark, where he began his business career in sales. They moved to Crystal River, Florida in 1953, Jacksonville, FL in 1958 and retired to Crystal River, FL in 1974, where he was a founding member of the Seven Rivers Country Club, and the Rod and Gun Club. Mr. Wood was preceded in death by his wife of 57 years, Nancy Coates Wood, and a sister, Elizabeth Wood Smith of Crystal River, FL. Survivors include a daughter, Gail Wood of Crystal River, a son, W.J. 'Rusty' Wood and daughter-in- law Terry Wood of Perry, GA; granddaughter, Whitney Cayler Wood of New York, NY; sister, Sally Wood Lambert, and a niece, Olive Lambert, both of Cincinnati, OH. Ruiz, Carolyn - Carolyn S. Ruiz, 62, of Newark, died Saturday, Oct. 29, 2005, at Newark-Wayne Community Hospital following a brief illness. Mrs. Ruiz was born Oct. 30, 1942, in Seneca Falls, the daughter of the late Edward and Ethel Norton Compson. Carolyn was a resident of Newark for over 10 years and prior to that lived in Lyons for 17 years. She was employed by the IEC Corp. of Newark and also worked as an aide for The Hearth Adult Care Home in Lyons. For many years, she was a short order cook at both Vince's and Helen's restaurants in Lyons. She was also a volunteer at the VFW Post in Newark. She was predeceased by her husband, Raymond; her son, David Sergeant; and her brother, Edward Compson. She is survived by three daughters, Urcelina Rosario of Seneca Falls, Elinor (Timothy) Cain of Lyons and Carolyn Lopez of Newark; two sons, Juan Antonio Rosario and Juan Diego Rosario, both of Lyons; her brother, Richard Compson of Clyde; 19 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. Family and friends are invited to call from 7 to 9 p.m. today (Wednesday, Nov. 2) at the Baris Funeral Home, 87 W. Genesee St. in Clyde. Farnsworth, Muriel - Muriel F. Farnsworth, 77, of Sodus, died Saturday, Oct. 29, 2005. She was predeceased by daughter Brenda Benham. Magee, Walter - Walter Austin Magee, 83, formerly of Palmyra, died October 21, 2005 at Newark Hospital, with his family by his side. Arrangements were made by Norman L. Walter was born the son of the late Austin and Lilian Sedgwick Magee on June 17, 1922 in Newark, NY. He was a graduate of Newark High School. Mr. Magee was a life time dairy farmer and owner of Magee Farms in Palmyra. He was a member of the E. Palmyra Volunteer Fire Dept. for over 50 years, served on the Board of Directors for the Farm Service Agency and Palmyra Grievance Board. He was a member of the East Palmyra Presbyterian Church, Newark Grange, Agway Committee Member and the NYS Farm Bureau. He enjoyed traveling, fishing and volunteer for the Boy Scouts. Walt will be remembered by his wife Lois Stenner Magee of Webster; daughters Sally (Tony) Rosario of Newark and Anna (Roger) Fox of Palmyra; sons William (Carol) Magee, Kenneth (Shirley) Magee both of Palmyra; step-daughters Lynn (Keith) Tupper, Leslie (Christopher) Davis; step-son Lee Kaminske and his fiancee Lisa Bower; 16 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren and his sister, Sylvia Harding. He was predeceased in 1987 by his first wife, Mildred Boeye Magee.

Hostetter, Margaret - Margaret 'Madge' Hostetter, 83, of Newark, died October 22, 2005 at the DeMay Living Center. A funeral service was held at the First Presbyterian Church of Hector. Interment is in the Presbyterian Cemetery in Hector, NY. She was born the daughter of the late William and Sarah Weir McCart on November 9, 1921 in Guilford County Down, Ireland. She was a graduate of Nyack College receiving a Bachelor's degree in Religious Education. Mrs. Hostetter had worked several years at the Watkins Glen Central Schools. Mrs. Hostetter was a member of the Fairville Presbyterian Church and the Coterie Ladies Group. She enjoyed watching birds and crossword puzzles. She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Rev. B. David Hostetter; son David W. (Susan) Hostetter of Rochester; daughter Bonnie Collins of Newark; grandsons Jonathan and Eric; sisters Lavinia McCart and Harriette McCart both of Colonie, NY.; several nieces and nephews. DeFisher, Leon - Leon F. DeFisher Sr., 82, of Hayward, California, died on Oct. 20, 2005. Leon was born and raised in Marion, son of Isaac and Jennie DeFisher. He moved to Rochester and went to work for the New York Central as a Car Man after the closing of the New York Central Railroad. He moved to Arizona and became employed by the Southern Pacific Railroad. From there he transferred to San Bernadino and later to Fremont, California. Leon was married to Mary Donily and later on to Denise Pemberton. Leon was predeceased in death by both spouses and 1 son, David L. DeFisher. He is survived by his son, Leon DeFisher Jr., of Rochester, and daughter, Marlene (Martin) Asplazu of Meridian, Idaho; seven grandchildren, great-grandchildren and nephews. Gendron, Margaret - Margaret E. Gendron, 82, died October 21, 2005 at St. Luke's Home in New Hartford. She was born October 16, 1923 in Midland, Ontario, Canada, daughter of William and Edna Moore Fountain. October 20, 1941 in Canada, she was married to the Rev. Gordon J. Gendron. The Rev. Gendron died February 25, 1984. Margaret had lived in Geetingsville (Indiana), Waterville, Oriskany Falls, Verona and Newark, where she was a member of the Park Presbyterian Church. She lived in Newark for several years, with her daughter, Deborah Burlingham. She is survived by two daughters, Lorna Marcotte of Albuquerque, NM and Deborah Burlingham, Newark; two sons, Gordon (Paul) Gendron and wife Marie, in Black Mountain, NC; Bruce Gendron and Aymme Belen of New Hartford; eight grandchildren, including Laura Kelley, Kathleen Kelley and Tracy Burlingham of Newark; four sisters and a brother. She was predeceased by two daughters, Susan Cross and Gail Gendron, one sister and two brothers. Private funeral services were held in Rome, with interment in Verona.

Gonzalez, Jill - Jill Marita Gonzalez, 52, of Seneca Falls, died Oct. 21, 2005. Jill was born in Painesville, Ohio, the daughter of Paul E. and Louann Zelner Gordon. She lived in Rochester-Finger Lakes area and was a graduate of Nazareth College. Jill was an educator at AIDS Rochester for the past 12 years. She was predeceased by her father, Paul E. Gordon in 2001. She is survived by her life partner, Marsha E. Foote of Seneca Falls; her mother, Louann Z. Gordon of Ithaca; daughter, Cristine (Vincent) Alello of Penfield; granddaughter, Irene Mae Alello; sister, Susan Springer; and brother-in-law, Kevin Dow of Connecticut; brother, Lyle Gordon; sister-in-law, Eileen Berlow of Ithaca; nephew, PFC Mark Springer of Fort Hood, Texas; and a very dear friend, Anita Otley of Newark. Miller, Adeline - Adeline (Miss Addie) Miller, 80, died Oct. 24, 2005. She was predeceased by her husbands, Robert M. Miller & Raymond E. York. Addie was the beloved mother of Ray (Sherry) York of Boise, Idaho, Elaine Heberle (Tim Brady), Ed (Sharon) York and Deb (Willie) Golden all of Rochester, Donna (Jim) Hurley of Sodus, Roger York (Kim Baker) and Charlie (Sandee) York, both of Williamson; 13 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Arrangements were made by Norton Funeral Home, Sodus, with funeral service at the Williamson United Methodist Church. Memorial contributions may be made to the Wolcott American Legion.

Catlin, Odessa B. - Odessa B. Catlin, 88, of Sodus, entered into rest at Blossom View Nursing Home on October 24, 2005. Odessa is survived by her son, John D. Catlin of Sodus; daughter, Emily M. (John R.) Prentice of Wolcott; grandchildren, Christopher M. & Eric M. (Carrie DeWaters) Brown, Nathan D. (Sarah Stoll) and Jessica L. (Cody Lapp) Graham all of Wolcott; step-children, Tiffany L. Prentice of Geneva, Meranda J. Prentice of Tennessee; several nieces and nephews. No calling hours will be observed. A memorial service will be held at the First United Presbyterian Church, Sodus on Saturday, October 29, 2005 at 1 p.m. Arrangements made with the Norton Funeral Home. Milligan, Janet B. - Janet 'Jan' B. Milligan, 79, of Palmyra, died Wednesday, October 26, 2005. In celebration of Jan's life, her family will receive friends from 2-6 on Saturday, October 29 at the family home, 173 Sunset Drive, Palmyra. Wirth, Duane Alvin, Sr. - Duane Alvin Wirth, Sr., 71, of Pearl Street died Wednesday, Oct. 26, 2005 at Rochester General Hospital. Duane was born in Palmyra, April 27, 1934, son of George & Anna DeSeyn Wirth. He was a machinist at Mobile Chemical Co. in Macedon; and was a meat cutter by trade. He served in the Air Force had a great love for the flea market business. Friends may call Oct. 28 from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. where services will be held at 6 p.m. (Please note time) at Schulz-Pusateri Funeral Home, 103 Maple Ct., Newark. A graveside service will be held Monday at 1:30 p.m. at East Palmyra Cemetery. Memorials to the Lyons Ambulance Fund. Garen, Helen D. - Helen D. Garen, 93, of Newark, died on Saturday (October 22, 2005) at Blossom View Nursing Home in Sodus. Friends called on Monday (October 24) at the Paul L. Murphy & Sons Funeral Home, 127 East Miller Street, Newark. Father Peter Clifford celebrated a Mass of Christian Burial on Tuesday (Oct. 25) at St. Michael's Church, South Main Street, Newark. Burial in Newark Cemetery. Memorials in her name may be made to St. Michael's Church, 401 S. Main St., Newark, NY 14513. Mrs. Garen was born on August 4, 1912, in Ferrisburg, Vt. the daughter of John and Margaret Donavan De Courcy. Before moving to Newark in 1995, she had lived in Farmington Ct. for many years. She was a registered nurse and had worked in various hospital and schools in Connecticut. She was a member of the Pratt & Whitney Retiree Club in Farmington where she had been a welder. Helen was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church in Farmington and a member of the Knights of Columbus Auxiliary. In Newark, she was a communicant of St. Michael's Church. She is survived by two sons George (Shirley) of Enfield, Ct. and James (Judy) of Newark, a daughter Kathleen (Dr. Jose) Yap of Youngstown, Oh, nine grandchildren Dean, Cheryl, Maureen, Dan, Jim, Karen, Kathy, Mary and Chris; nineteen great grandchildren. Helen was predeceased by her husband George in 2000 and a grandson Michael Garen.

Simpson, Edward P. - Edward P. Simpson, 68, of Clifton Springs, formerly of Walworth died on Saturday (October 22, 2005) at Geneva General Hospital. Friends called Tuesday at the Paul L. Murphy & Sons Funeral Home, 127 East Miller Street, Newark, New York. Funeral services will be held this morning at 11 a.m. (Wednesday, Oct. 26) at the First United Methodist Church, South Main Street, Newark. Burial will be in Boxwood Cemetery, Medina. Memorials in his name may be made to the Wayne County Chapter of the American Red Cross, 165 East Union Street, Newark, New York 14513. Mr. Simpson was born on January 4,1937, in Blaisdell, New York the son of Edward J and Althea Perry Simpson. He had worked for Xerox in Webster for twenty years and retired in 2001 from the US Postal Service in Rochester. Ed was a graduate of Medina High School in 1955 and graduated from NY State University at Brockport. He served with the US Marine Corp. A member of the Walworth Unit, Methodist Church, he sang with the choir, served as trustee, youth leader and Sunday school teacher. He was a member of the Walworth Lions Club and a volunteer with the United Way in Walworth. He is survived by his son Mark (Maureen) of Henrietta, daughters Jean (Robert Jr.) Bendix of Newark, Barbara (David) Thieme of Laguna Niguel, Ca. and Molly (Margaret) Crowley-Perry of Brighton, ten grandchildren and a nephew. Ed was predeceased by his sister Flora Simpson.

Farr, Alice (Gravino) - Alice (Gravino) Farr, 94, of 83 Sherrill St., Geneva, died Wednesday (Oct. 19, 2005) at Geneva Living Center South. Family and friends called Friday (Oct. 21) at Palmisano Funeral Home. Funeral services were 9:30 a.m. Saturday (Oct. 22) at the funeral home, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at St. Francis DeSales Roman Catholic Church. Entombment in St. Mary's Mausoleum. Memorial donations may be sent to Ontario-Yates Hospice, 756 Pre-Emption Road, Geneva, NY 14456. Alice was born Feb. 28, 1911, the daughter of the late Domenic and Angeline (Paone) Gravino of Newark. She was employed by the Hallegan's Manufacturing Co. of Newark as a cutter and by Geneva Forge and the Geneva City School District. Alice devoted her life to the care of her children and grandchildren. She enjoyed gardening, birdwatching and crocheting. She was a life member of the Catholic Daughters of America, the Rosary Society and St. Francis DeSales Church. She is survived by her daughter, Barbara Wheeler of Stanley; son, Peter (Kathleen) Farr of Hall; brother, Joseph Gravino of Macedon, Louis Gravino of Newark; sister, Margaret DeJohn of Newark; grandchildren, Mark Wheeler and Kristi (Joseph) Shur; great grandchildren, Taylor and Alex Shur; stepgrandchildren, Mathew, Kerri and Tim Stahlnecker; and several nieces, nephews and friends. She was predeceased by her husband, Frank Lewis Farr; sister, Angeline Sapp; brother, Thomas Gravino; sister, Mary Reo; and brother, Frank Gravino.

Hawkins, Mary M. - Mary M. Hawkins, 96, of Sunset Drive, Lyons, and a resident of the DeMay Living Center, died Thursday (Oct. 20, 2005) at Newark-Wayne Community Hospital. Friends and family attended calling hours Monday.(Oct. 24) at the Weeks-Keysor Funeral Home, 5 Phelps St. in Lyons, where funeral services followed. Burial was held at South Lyons Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Newark Community Center, Newark 14513. Mary was born Sept.,15, 1909, in Ukraine, a daughter to Wasyl and Olena Worna Hrankowski. She came to the U.S. in 1913. She worked at General Dynamics as a purchase agent and worked as a tour guide for Trailways during her retirement years. She was active in SCAC statewide, and many other senior citizen organizations. She was also a member of the American Legion. She is survived by her stepson, Stephan (Mary Ann) Hawkins; nephews and nieces, David (Deborah) Loveless and children, Kelly and Kari, Vernon (Susan) Loveless and children, Wendy and Julie, Karen (David) Taddeo and children; Katherine and Joanna, Henry (Barb) Hrankowsky, Michael Hrankowsky, Annie Wheatley, Mary (David) Giarrizzo and Linda Bowen. She was predeceased by her husband, Frank in 1969; one sister, Sophia Loveless; and two brothers, Michael and Henry.
