New
dining choices
in Newark
By John Zornow
Restaurants have opened, to fill the voids left by the closing of Perkins and Danny
Boy's.
Quigley's On-The-Green opened at the former
Danny Boy's location last weekend. Owner Bob Quigley of Phelps spent several weeks
preparing for his opening by completely painting and updating the restaurant. Quigley's
On-The-Green will be open every day for lunch and dinner. It is located at the Pearl
St./Murray St. junction.
Jim and Paul Votsis announce the
opening of Union Square, a full-service restaurant on the west side of Newark, in the
former Ponderosa.
They will be serving three meals a day from 6 a.m. until
11 p.m., weekdays and Sunday, and until midnight on Friday and Saturday. Major remodeling
has produced a pleasing Greek "Old World" atmosphere.
