Missing Sodus
We were in Wayne County this past week, taking Sarah to the Vet in Lyons. I stood at the desk waiting patiently. When I turned around, there were many normal-acting dogs lying on the floor or sitting (probably dreading their turn, hoping they were not next). Our dog felt that she doesn't sit on the floor at home, why should this be any different. She sat on the couch in between the kids - just as tall as they are. She wanted to play with a small boy who came in and her tail knocking against the wall could be heard from across the room. (It'll be nice to pick her up. The house is just too quiet!)
Al Dobbin's little leprechaun made a surprise visit with some homemade cookies. (Hope you enjoyed them, Al.) We also made stops to Lill Burkholder's, the Pike's and Hooper's - dropping off peanut butter and chocolate chip cookies everywhere we went. (We don't want anyone to forget about us, now do we?)
On our ride through Sodus Point we found many people working on the buildings at the beach park - sweeping and painting, getting ready for the summer activities to begin. Speaking of getting ready for summer, Mrs. Gravelle of the Williamson Library is coming up with some fun ideas for the summer reading program. During the summer programs, there are always fun activities, story hours and entertainers. The program will begin in July and will go through the middle of August. I'll let you know more later. Don't forget story time with Mrs. Coombs at the Sodus Library on Monday Mornings at 10:30. It's a nice way to spend an hour.
Well, I'm off to count the handprints on my door (the kids had the week off, you know). Let me know how you kept your kids occupied, I'll need to know for Summer vacation. Thanks to everyone who has written and kept me updated on things that are going on in the area. A special thanks to Mrs. Gravelle at the Williamson library who has supplied me with a schedule of events that will be happening soon. And Al, when do those blossoms come out on the Rose of Sharon bush? We won't be able to keep up on it's progress this year (but I took a photo of it last year). I'm looking forward to hearing from you all. Write me Have a nice springtime week. (Editor's note: Melissa, the forsythia is just barely in bloom and all my tulips aren't open yet! Stop pushing for the Rose of Sharon - when mine blooms, summer's almost over!) Copyright © 1999 |
