Williamson elementary students are busy, under the direction of their teachers (Leslie Wood, Deb Bliek and Sue Gregg), organizing a fundraiser for the Kosovo refugees.

Everywhere you will see cans and jugs labeled and ready to accept donations. The students learned about the refugee crisis in school and on the news and made the decision to do something positive to help.

Jacob DeMarree and Brittney Daniels of Sue Gregg's 4th grade class are pictured holding a large can;

and Casey Marino and Abe Moll display a jug full of donations.

The funds raised will be directed to the American Red Cross International Response Fund and will be used to purchase ready-to-eat meals, blankets, hygiene supplies and other necessities for the refugees.

Williamson residents are encouraged to support these young people with this fundraiser. Red Cross Director Nadine Brill said, "Their concern for the growing number of refugees is commendable."
