Bill Wagner of Marion and Sean Vandervoort of Williamson, senior students in the Wayne Area Vocational Center's Auto Mechanics class, beat out 5400 of 5600 students entered in the first part of Ford's AAA Trouble Shooting Contest.

Their scores on the 50-item, 50-minute test given on March 10 at Columbia-Greene Community College, qualified them to perform as a team for the hands-on, trouble-shooting portion of the contest to be held May 11.

They and nine other two-person teams will be given an automobile, identical to all others, which also has identical mechanical problems. The first team to correctly de-bug its assigned auto wins the competition.

Geoff Gilman, Principal of the vocational center said, "This is a terrific accomplishment for these students and an honor for us. It also speaks well for their teacher, Chet Kuhn, and the instruction he provides."
