Golf for Myers on August 16

The Myers Hospital Foundation is ready for the Golf Classic on Mon. August 16, at Sodus Bay Heights Golf Club in Sodus Point.

The event is being held in memory of Joanne Curtis, RN, a long-time friend and supporter of the Foundation. In addition, proceeds from the event will help buy a mammography machine for ViaHealth Myers.

Doug Taylor of Sodus is chairman for the Golf Classic. He says the Myers mammography program serves more than 1200 women each year. Since mammography technology is rapidly changing, the new unit will ensure high quality images with minimal radiation exposure.

There's still time for players and sponsors to take part. Registration is $95 per golfer, which includes 18 holes of golf with a cart, on-course refreshments and a pig roast dinner. Registaration starts at noon with a shotgun start at 1 p.m. with play in a scramble format. Play is limited to 144 golfers.

Register at Sodus Bay Heights Golf Club, the Twig Tree Top Shop at Myers, and at the Hospital Foundation Office. For more information call 483.3278.
