Calling all Sampson vets

The Sampson Air Force Base Veteran's Association, Inc. will hold its 2nd Annual Reunion, September 9 through Sept. 12 at the former air base that is now Sampson State Park.

Included in the four-day event will be a memorial service for fallen Air Force comrades. The service will be held on Saturday, September 11, beginning at 2 p.m. The memorial service will honor the veterans with a fly-by of F-16 Fighters from the 174th Tactical Fighter Wing from Hancock Field in Syracuse.

The Veteran's Group, now more than 1500 strong, is also completing work on an Air Force Museum which will pay tribute to the more than 300,000 men and women who served at Sampson from 1950 to 1956.
