Montezuma art contest for youth art

The National Wildlife Refuge Week Youth Art Contest is open to all young artists between the ages of 7 and 18. The contest is open to drawings, models, carvings, etc. but must feature a wildlife species found in the habitats of Montezuma's Wetlands. (No alligators!).

All entries must be original creations. No copying, duplicating or computer-generated artwork. Each entry must include a title and short essay (a minimum of a few sentences, but no more than a couple of paragraphs) about the featured species. To facilitate the distribution of prizes and certificates for participation, please attach the following information to each entry: artist's name, age, address, telephone number and the name of the artist's school.

All entries must be received by noon on Friday, October 1. All entries will receive prizes. Overall winners will be selected during National Wildlife Refuge Week, October 10-16.

Artwork (as many as physically possible) will be displayed at the refuge Visitor Center. For further information on the contest, contact Marva Gingrich at the refuge between 7:30 and 4 at 315.568.5987.
