Library sign-up time in Lyons

September is National Library Card Sign Up Month at the Lyons Public Library. The library is encouraging people to stop in and sign up for a library card if they do not have one.

In the past year, the library has computerized its check-out system and card catalog. The old cardboard cards with a metal plate are no longer usable. All patrons must now have the library's new plastic card. New cards were made a year ago for those patrons registered with the library, and are on file here. Please corne in and pick up your card if you haven't yet, since these cards will be deleted starting in October.

Children must be 4 years old to sign up for a library card. At 14 years old, children become eligible for an adult card, which enables them to take out videos. Anyone 14 years of age and older must provide proof of address when signing up for a library card the first time.

For more information, call 315.946.9262 or stop in at the library at 67 Canal Street, Lyons.
