Christmas Traditions at next DAR meeting The Reverend Stephen T. Lane, pastor of the Episcopal Church in Palmyra will be the guest speaker addressing the subject of 'Christmas Traditions' at the December 15 meeting of the Colonel William Prescott Chapter Daughters of the American Revolution of Wayne County. The origin and roots of Christmas will be explored, as well as the spread of Germanic customs to Victorian England from whence most of our present-day practices arise. The tree, the wreath and Santa Claus will be among those included. Prior to The Reverend Lane's present pastorate at the Zion Episcopal Church in Palmyra for 14 years, he served at the Christ Episcopal Church in Coming for 7 years. He and his wife Gretchen, who is an employee of BOCES of Monroe County, have three children, two in college and the youngest, a high school senior. CWPC members Jeanne Frey and Anne Rynearson have decorated the Chapter House (119 High Street) rooms appropriately for the holiday season. The public is invited to attend the 1 p.m. program following the noon luncheon for members.
