Christmas Eve at Lyons church

There will be a special Candlelight Service on Christmas Eve at 7 p.m. at The First Presbyterian Church of Lyons.

The choir, under the direction of Camille Clark is planning special music and will be accompanied by Jonathan Carroll, on the organ.

There will be two instrumental preludes. The first features Sonya Clark (bassoon), Mallory Bailey (saxophone), Martha Bailey, Katie Wolfer, and Jenny Hagen (all on the clarinet),Camille Clark (flute), and Jan Bailey (cello). The second prelude will be played by a Brass Quartet that includes: Kyle Clark, Nicholas Wolfer, Kurt Simmons and Steve Bailey.

The Rev. Cynthia Huling Hummel will preach. Her meditation is titled: 'Don't Be Afraid.' Scott Simmons will be the liturgist. The service will end with the traditional candle lighting and the congregation is invited to join in the singing of the Hallelujah Chorus. Nursery care will be provided for infants and toddlers.

The church is located at 11 Queen Street at the corner of Broad and is handicapped accessible. For more information, please call 946.4723.
