Our book list for the week

Mimi's Christmas by Martin Waddell. A cute easy-to-read story with adorable illustrations about the mouse family. The mouse family gets ready for the big day, just as human children do. Little mice write letters to Santa, hang up their stockings, decorate the Christmas tree and have trouble sleeping on Christmas Eve. A nice book. Your second or third grader can read it to you, but it's one all ages will enjoy.

Warthogs In the Kitchen; a sloppy counting book by Pamela Duncan Edwards. An easy-to-read, hilarious counting book about Warthogs who decide to make something great to eat. You won't believe what goes into Warthog cupcakes!

Everything to Spend the Night from A-Z by Ann Whitford Paul. This story will tell you A-Z everything you'll need to spend the night. Of course, your suitcase will be heavy and you may not use all of it in one night. Did you know you'll need things like an oar, a jar with an inchworm and a wand? This story is easy-to-read and funny.

For Pete's Sake by Ellen Stoll Walsh. Pete, the little green crocodile, wants to be pink like the flamingos. They tell him he probably isn't ripe yet. The flamingos try to be encouraging, telling him his wings will come in later. He was thrilled to find green flamingos that look like him! Fun and easy-to-read.

Pull up a comfy chair, some cocoa and, of course, a Christmas cookie, and enjoy reading with your family.
