Newark Church marks 75 years

Sunday, February 7 at 10 a.m. will mark the 75th anniversary of the dedication of the current sanctuary of First United Methodist Church, South Main and High Streets, Newark.

For the occasion, the sanctuary has been redecorated and new carpeting installed. Former pastors, the Reverends James M. LeGro, 1970-76, Gilbert C. Mitchell, 1976-85 and Herbert F. Hoskins, 1985-90 will be attending and participating along with the current pastor Elton 0. Smith, Jr. Guest speaker will be Dr. Robert M. Stoppert, Superintendent of the Central Lakes District.

At 6 p.m. on Sunday, February 7, John Wesley, "The Man from Aldersgate," will be portrayed by actor Roger Nelson. A free-will offering is to be taken.
