museumAHS works to
open museum

Members of the Arcadia Historical Society are working to open the AHS Museum by June's Newarkfest.

The AHS owns the former Church of Christian Science at the corner of High and Mason Streets, Newark. The building has been used for meetings, public presentations and such, awaiting to be transformed into a museum. Now volunteers are working to make that become a reality.

museumAHS held a fundraising campaign to pay off the mortgage to the property, purchased just two years ago. The AHS also owns the old Marbletown Schoolhouse, and holds an annual Strawberry Social there, as well as an occasional Open House.

Organized in 1992, the AHS has accomplished much in its few short years.

If you would like to help, become a member, or would like to make a donation, contact AHS President Chris Davis at (315) 331-4078.
