Missing Sodus
We also saw an Exotic Animal Presentation by Marianne Smith at the library here. We saw some really interesting little creatures like the hedgehogs and sugar gliders. (We first saw hedgehogs and sugar gliders at the Country Pets and More Store on Route 104 in Sodus. Betty told us all about the five little ones the female had and how the mother has to be in a quiet spot for the babies to do well. Does she still have the chinchilla at her store?) Ms. Smith lady had with her huge cockroaches from Madagascar and a 13-foot Python that wrapped around her, she told us for support. There was a legless lizard which looks a lot like a snake but is not like a snake at all. Marianne does shows for Birthday parties and even a live storytime. She does a show called Snakes Alive and the Exotic presentation we saw that included many different types of things. If you are interested for a birthday party or even a library or Scout presentation you should give her a call at 716-266-4823. She has a special room for all the creatures to live in at her home and it sounds as if she has quite an assortment to share. The Williamson Library will be having a Children's Preschool Storytime Wednesday mornings from 10:30-11 through March 3l. Children ages 3-5 can enjoy books, songs and creative dramatics with the library's Children's Specialist, Cheryl Gravelle. Registration is required and children must have turned 3 by February 1 of this year. We've been to many of Mrs. Gravelle's storytimes and she is quite creative. The kids always enjoyed them, just as your little ones will. Did your children and grandchildren enjoy the events at the school's 100th day? The children at my daughter's school did a poster as a class. They were amazed to hear about how the Sodus Primary School has all students make up a project using 100 things. (I missed not making one this year.) And speaking of the Sodus schools - the district's new web site is up and running. Click here for a peek. The Girl Scout Leaders must be busy preparing for the girls' March lock-in. It's a night of fun activities and little, if any, sleep. We went last year and I had to beg my girls to go to bed at 3 a.m. (I used to be able to keep up but in my aging years find it harder to stay up past 9 p.m.) I'll keep you posted on their progress. During the week of the kids' school
vacation we kept busy. (I think we kept a little too busy - I got worn out.) We went to
the Seneca Park Zoo. The giraffes we saw at last year's first grade field trip have now
gone back to their home zoo. Did you have the chance to see them? I bet your Sodus Primary
first grader did.
