Well, if you think you're all alone in the snow you're not, we've had quite a bit as well. Probably not as much as you have, but more than I like to deal with. Kids love it, I just keep hoping that tomorrow when I wake up it'll be spring.

Congratulations to the winners and the top runners-up in the Sodus contest for the best decorated houses for Christmas. To all who entered, I'm sure your decorations were appreciated as well. It took me a while to find ours after the move, but, with patience, we did.

Through January 31, Town of Sodus residents can take their Christmas trees to the Town barns on Rotterdam Rd. for recycling.

koi.jpg (19388 bytes)I'm including some pictures that will warm you up. And while you're thinking of the beach and the waves, try tis fun craft idea with the kids. Fill a one liter bottle half full of water, add blue food coloring (or any other of your choice). Next, slowly fill 1/3 of the bottle with oil. Set aside for 15 minutes with the top off to get rid of any unwanted bubbles. (Watch out for small hands or kitty paws that love to knock things over.) Then slowly put the top on the bottle tightly, being sure not to create any bubbles. Voila! You've made your own surf! The kids enjoy playing with it, making the waves form. I just like to watch it and think about warm, sunny places.

Tomorrow night is Cabaret '99 at the Sodus High gym at 8 p.m. You can enjoy the Jazz Band, Select Choir, other musical performances and refreshments. Sounds like a great evening - and only $8 at the door.

Williamson Middle School will present "It's a Wonderful Life" on Friday, January 22 at 7 p.m. and Sat., January 23 at 1 and 7 p.m. Take the whole family!

hgirl.jpg (16621 bytes)Hey Eileen, does your Mother miss all the snow? She probably wanted to take some snow back with her. (I bet the thought of going back to Florida made her dance down the aisle of the airplane.) Have her keep us posted on all the fun she's having in Florida so we can dream about it.

I read somewhere that the Cub Scouts are having their Pinewood Derby tomorrow (Sat., Jan. 16). Let me know the results!

I'm going back outside to shovel again, this time I'll have a better attitude and smile. (I'll probably get a lot of funny looks.) Don't forget to keep me updated on everything that is going on. Let me know what's happening back in Sodus! E-mail me:

I'm looking forward to hearing from you!
