Williams takes post at Historial Society Karen Kehoe, President of Wayne County Historical Society Board of Trustees, is pleased to announce the appointment of Lisa Williams to the post of Curator of Education. The part-time position became vacant when Dr. Ann Morton accepted the position of Curator at the Wayne County Historical Society, explained Kehoe. "We looked for a person who would have a solid knowledge of Wayne County and an enthusiastic way of presenting history to the public," she said. "Lisa seemed perfect for the position." Williams, a Wayne County resident for the past 14 years, will be taking educational programs into the communities of Wayne County, while Morton's focus will be expanding interactive programming, pursuing grant monies, and coordinating collections management at the Museum. In the past, the Museum offered several presentations to the public, i.e., Wayne County's Prehistory, Pioneer Everyday Life, Life in Wayne County Towns and Villages, The Erie Canal, The Underground Railroad, 19th Century Architectural Styles in Wayne County, Early Education and Schools in Wayne County, and History of Religion in Wayne County. "We are hoping to expand our audience as well as the selection of interactive programs that will be available to schools, nursing homes, nutrition sites, and other organizations," said Executive Director, Andrea Evangelist. "Lisa will help the Society work toward reaching that goal when she begins her work this month." "I am really excited about this opportunity," Williams says. "Wayne County is rich with history and I strongly believe in the Museum's mission to provide all levels of educational outreach to the citizens of the County." Williams resides with her husband, John, and children, Kristen, Matthew, and Michael in Lyons.
