Missing Sodus
The Hoopers have been busy in their new home in Florida. Already they've planted flowers and gotten school clothes. Eileen said the fireworks display from Disney was great. They've made some friends in the neighborhood. In fact, one is a teacher who will be teaching at Bobby and Susie's school. During these hot days they've spent much of the time in the pool and taking it easy before they begin their new jobs. The party theme for this week at the Williamson Library is April Fools. (I bet the kids pick up a few ideas for next year's real April Fool's Day.) Summer Storytime begins the 13th on Tuesday mornings at 10:30 for kids age 4 and up. (Younger children may attend if accompanied by an adult.)
Some good stories to try are: Regina's Big Mistake by Marissa Moss A Cake All For Me! Karen Magnuson Beil The Winter Picnic Robert Welber Pigs in the Pantry Amy Axelrod Our Boxer, Sarah, has been keeping busy during the vacation week, even though she's always on vacation (or maybe she's always working - she never seems to sit down). During the day, she finds it necessary to attack the sprinkler (I don't have any photos - I'm usually trying to save the hose. She already ate through one hose this week.) Vacations are fun, but we're looking forward to getting back into our 'lazy days of
summer' routine. Congratulations to the Williamson Library for receiving an Outreach Mini-grant from the Pioneer Library System. The grant enables the library to purchase the necessary materials which aid people who are unemployed and are looking for assistance in getting a job. It is so nice that there are materials such as these available. The Sodus Library Reading Club has begun the Summer Program. On Wednesday July 14th from 7-7:30 there will be a PJ story time. July 16th promises 'Crafts with Sandy' from 1 to 2:30 and, of course, don't forget storytime every Monday from 10:30-11:30. Lots of fun reading adventures lie ahead. The Williamson Library will be featuring Larry Moss, a one man circus called
"Fooled Ya!" on Thursday July 15th at 2 p.m. Larry is a former Ringling Brothers
clown and has many books and CD Mrs. Gravelle has informed me that there are 300 children signed up for the Summer Reading Program. That's great! Did you see the Bubble Mania program last week? It was a good one and attracted 200 people. (Many parked at the Middle School parking lot.) Thanks to everyone who has let me know about what I'm missing in Wayne County. Write to me at and tell me what you're doing that's fun this summer. I'm looking forward to hearing from you. Enjoy your week (and your families) and remember to take some time to enjoy the sunshine.
