Ice cream and jazz at the Point

Sodus PointThe Sodus Bay Historical Society invites you to beat the heat at a free double concert and Ice Cream Social, on July 18, at the Sodus Point Lighthouse Museum.

The fun begins at 1 p.m. when Nostalgic Reunion takes the outdoor gazebo stage. This group is known for its mellow saxophone jazz. Bring a blanket or lawn chair and plenty of sunscreen to enjoy the breezy Lake Ontario setting.

At 1:30 p.m., 20 volunteers from the Sodus Bay Historical Society will begin serving luscious sundaes from the Perry's Ice Cream Wagon.

Thirty-six gallons of the frozen treat in America's favorite flavors - vanilla, chocolate and strawberry - along with chocolate, strawberry and butterscotch toppings, will be available. Sundaes are available for a nominal fee until 4:30 p.m. or supplies run out.

At 3 p.m. Rochester's Gateswingers add their big band sound to this perfect summer afternoon. The Museum and Gift Shop will be open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. during double concert Sunday. Admission is free.
