Young Adult Writing Contest in Lyons

The Lyons Public Library is sponsoring its annual Young Adult Writing Contest for children ages 12-18. Entry forms may be picked up at the library at 67 Canal St. in Lyons.

Entrants may write a short story, poem or both, based on the weekly summer reading themes which are: birthdays, humor, summer, America, the century or wildlife. Each person may submit only 1 entry per category. Entries cannot exceed the front and back of the two pages of the entry form. All entries must be received between July 26 and July 31. No late entries will be accepted.

The winning entries will be announced on August 7. The winners will receive a gift certificate from On Cue. For more information, call the library at 946.9262.
