July 17- Pultneyville Homecoming Antique Show and Sale 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Chicken barbecue, food available, "country parade," historic walking tour. Pultneyville Civic Light Opera Company plays at 8 p.m. Gary and Barb Wilson of Union Street, held an "open house" on their side lawn on Sunday, July 11 in honor of their daughter, Melissa's, graduation from Marion High School. Family members, friends and neighbors enjoyed the delicious buffet and conversation.
Members and friends of the United Church will be attending another special United Church's Raptors' night at Colburn Park in Newark, on July 20. Call 926-5501 for information. Congratulations! to Jack Dekdebrun and Gerry Blankenberg who were married in the United Church sanctuary on July 10, 1999. Ruth Haskins is recuperating at home with a broken wrist following a fall. Vern and Mil Leenhouts have returned from a bus trip to Pennsylvania. There, they enjoyed the spectacular peformance of "Noah" and a presentation of "The King and I." Before returning home they traveled to Hershey, PA, where they toured the city and viewed the making of Hershey candy at the Hershey factory. JULY 5, 1923 - Principal Ray V. Shaver presented diplomas to the eight in the graduating class at Commencement exercises Tuesday. They were Bernice Farnsworth, Margaret Curtis, Alice Johnson, Leone Luce, Dorothy Van Ostrand, Ronald Ganze, Foster Williamson and Morgan Van Doorn. The Marion Girls Basketball teams wish to thank all who contributed their bottles and cans during their drive. The proceeds will be used to attend Basketball Camp. Marion's Red Caps Band joined other
rain-drenched bands and marchers during last weekend in Old Forge, NY (photo). It was
an adventure for the band as well as family members who accompanied them to this
Adirondack village. Of course, we made stops at some of the shops and restaurants, such as
the Knotty Pine Inn, and the famous Forge Hardware Store.
