Hoffman Foundation lunch is June 7

The Augustus L. and Jennie D. Hoffman Foundation's annual Historical Awards Luncheon will be held on June 7, at noon at Newark Country Club. The Luncheon will include presentation of the T. Spencer Knight Historical Awards and presentation of scholarship awards to the winners of the Hoffman Foundation Scholarship Essay Contest.

Since 1977, the Hoffman Foundation Historical Awards Program has recognized individuals and organizations for their efforts on behalf of the preservation of Wayne County History.

The 1999 recipients are Christopher T. Davis, Marjory Allen Perez and the Baptist Rural Cemetery Association, Inc.

The Hoffman Scholarship Essay Program has annually made grants to area students since 1954. This year, a total of $8500 will be awarded in scholarships. The winners are: First - Valerie Miller, Clyde-Savannah High School; second - Erin Olson, Palmyra-Macedon High School; third - Sheila A. Baynes - Palmyra-Macedon.
