The Newark lacrosse program held their end-of-season banquet at the High School.

The first speaker was Modified Coach Larry Swan. This year's team finished with a 3-8 won/lost mark.

The coach recognized Mike Wilkes as the leading scorer. The impact awards were presented to Mike Colarocco, Matt Laird and Jarod Carlson. The Greatest Desire award was given to Steven Vine. The Most Improved Player award was give to Dan True. The Coaches Award was given to Quinon Collins.

JV coach Dan Stone said, "We had high expectations as the season began, hoping to reach the 500 mark," said Stone. "Our squad continued to improve as the season went along."

The Most Improved Player award was given to Lewis Gonzales. The Coaches Award was given to Travis Rohlin. The Greatest Desire award was given to Luke Adams. "Our players need to work to catch up with other programs that are two to three years ahead of us," added Stone.

Varsity Coach David Gioseffi thanked his assistant varsity coaches Dan Stone, Brian Boerman, Jesse Ruffalo and Larry Swan. "Our team this year was very young and inexperienced," said the varsity coach. "I thought we had the potential to win some games this year." Newark finished the year at 2 and 17. "I thought our first half of the year we would take our lumps, but our kids played with confidence in the second half and improved tremendously."

The Offensive Player of the Year was senior Chad Crockford. He led his squad with 33 goals and 13 assists. He will also play in Senior Exceptional All Star game. He is a first team all league performer.

Brad DeVelder was an honorable mention as a defenseman. Aaron Quku was an honorable mention Finger Lakes selection. The Newark goalie was also voted the team's best defensive player. He was also presented with the coaches award. The most improved player is Ian Kardys.
