Summer concert series in Wolcott Park
Seaway Studios - Arts and Cultural Center will be sponsoring a free summer afternoon
concert series at the Northup Park Gazebo in downtown Wolcott. Events will begin at 3 p.m.
on Sunday, July l8, August 15 and August 29. Refreshments and recordings of all of the
performers will be available at the concert. Bring a blanket or lawn chair and share in
the following unique performances:
- July 18: Nancy Kelly - A renowned jazz singer who has performed all over the
country with such groups as The Benny Goodman Orchestra and the Jeff Tyzek Big Band. It
has been said that Nancy Kelly has the same impact on stage that Judy Garland once
possessed, with the flair of Frank Sinatra. Her extraordinary and exciting jazz styling,
combined with her refined stage presence quickly gathers the emotion of the audience
during a performance.
- August 15: Tom Sieling - Folksinger/Songwriter. Another local favorite musician,
Tom Sieling has been performing his original works in coffeehouses, schools, and many
other forums for over 20 years. He has recorded music for both adults and children, and
has been involved in many school and song-writing workshop programs.
- August 29: Dan Duggan - Versatile singer and hammered dulcimer artist Dan Duggan
is a nationally-renowned and locally famous performer. His musical artistry and audience
rapport have made him a favorite both in the schools and on the concert stage. He has
recently recorded with Paul Simon - this CD to be released soon.
