Make plans to attend the Gatesinger Company's production of "JOSEPH and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat." Performances will be held on April 9, 10, 16, and 17 at 8 p.m. and on April 11 at 2 p.m. at Gates Hall in Pultneyville. This is the second time the Gatesinger Company Ltd. has performed Joseph. The first was in 1983.

With all the snow we've had lately, makes me remember the times when our #1 son used to drive the Ski Doo on the Newark-Marion railroad bed from Marion to Sand Hill Road in Newark and then cut across the fields to Grandma's House.

John and Nellie VanDorp will be celebrating their 50th wedding Anniversary with an "open house" arranged by their family, at the East Palmyra Christian School on Saturday, April 3 from 2-4 p.m.

Belated birthday wishes to Gerry Blankenberg who celebrated on March 10.

Marion 1940: There is the usual scarcity of houses in Marion this spring and property is changing hands. Among the recent sales was that of the Kussie farm, formerly known as the Lovejoy farm, to Isaac Adriaansen, and the sale of Mr. Adriaansen's home on Maple Avenue to his brother-in-law, Edward Govenor. The Plyter house on North Main Street has recently been sold to Glacius Smith of Marion.

Easter is coming! Maundy Thursday Communion service, at the United Church, will be held on April 1 at 7:30 p.m. This is one of the most sacred services in the Christian year, when we review again the events leading up to and culminating the death of Jesus.

The next youth event, held at the Education Building of the Second Reformed Church on Mill Street is called March Madness and will be held Saturday, March 27 from 7:30-10 p.m. This is for all students in grades 7-12.Invite your friends for an evening of basketball, volleyball, games, food, ping pong or just visiting.

There will be two Easter Sunday services at the Second Reformed Church: 8:30 and 10:30 a.m. And this is the day that Daylight Saving Time begins so turn your clocks ahead one hour.

Virginia Lupold of Palmyra is planning a Tuesday, May 18 bus trip to Niagara Falls. Guided tour of Bicycle Museum, buffet luncheon at Sheraton Falls View Hotel and see the film, "Niagara: Miracles, Myths and Magic" on screen over six stories high. Admission is included to the Butterfly Conservatory where beautiful butterfies fly freely through the air. Proof of citizenship is a must! Call Virginia at 597-4372.

HELP! I can't seem to find the bread mix for our breadmaker called, "Hawaiian Sweet Bread."

High School Juniors: There is Scholarship money available from the Hoffman Foundation.

Jeanne Lewis (331-3574) of the Port Gibson Travelers has the following trips planned: April 19 (Monday) Carrie's Birthday Bash with Clive Baldwin the Living Voice of Al Jolson. Luncheon at Holiday Inn in Auburn after visit to Seward House. Final stop at Sauder's Amish Store.

May 18-20: To Jimmy Stewart's Hometown of Indiana, PA to Zippo Lighters and Case Knives Visitor Center. Guide tells of Jimmy's boyhood home, and Museum stop. Visit the Johnstown Flood Museum. Continental Breakfast and wonderful dinners.

May 25 - African Lion Safari at Cambridge, Ontario, Canada. 1500 exotic birds and animals. Cruise aboard the African Queen and travel on the Nature Boy railway. Lunch at the Oasis. Call 331-3574.

Joe Bushart was a recent hospital patient.

Kathryn, daughter of Matt and Johanna Shaff, is recovering nicely from her successful heart surgery.

Barb De Lyser is recuperating at home following her surgery at the Newark Hospital.

The Marion PTA is sponsoring an Egg Hunt at 10 a.m. at the Elementary School Gym on March 27.
