Zappia's Party House razed

We didn't have a clue that Zappia's Party House was going to be reduced to rubble this morning, but a chance glimpse of the 'wrecking crew' sent Sandi running for these pictures.

The Party House, on Route 88 North, Newark, was closed as a restaurant for some time, and sold. When the purchaser of the property had financial problems, the ownership returned to Frank and Pat Zappia. The restaurant space has occassionally been rented for special events, catered by the Zappias.

And although this Newark landmark is no more, you can still enjoy Frank and Pat's hospitality (and good food) just down the block at The Corner.
