Marion youth going to Colorado The Second Reformed Church is sponsoring a group of 19 young people and six adults who will travel to Black Forest, Colorado to attend Challenge '99. The event is a week of wilderness experience that includes intense fun, physical, mental, and spiritual stretching, and most of all intense discipleship. Set in the beautiful Rocky Mountains of Colorado, Black Forest Camp is committed to providing opportunities to know God in a more intimate way. The trip is designed to help young people know Jesus better. Meeting with God there and being changed by Him is the ultimate purpose, though white water rafting, mountain climbing, and rappelling will be experiences that will be remembered for a lifetime. On June 12 and 14 the youth that are planning to attend will be holding two major fundraisers to help with the cost of air travel to and from Colorado. On June 12 there will be a car wash at the Second Reformed Church from 9 a.m. until noon. Cars will be washed on donation basis and coffee will be available while customers wait for theie vehicles. On Mon., June 14 a Flag Day Chicken Bar-B-Que will be held at The Second Reformed Church from 4:30 p.m. until 7 p.m., or until gone. The bar-b-que will include a half-chicken, prepared by Geoff Hayden and his crew, baked beans, applesauce, cole slaw, roll, and homemade cookies. Eat-in or take-out. Prices are $6.50 for adults and $4 for children 8 and under. Pre-sale ticket purchases are highly recommended. Call 926-7792 or 926-5726 to purchase tickets. Copyright
