Happenings By Carolyn Adriaansen (926-4436) I made the Green Tomato Relish, using Gertrude Webb's recipe which her family called 'Higdom Chop.' Her recipe card says to use with hot dogs and roast pork or mix with Mayonnaise for tartar sauce for fish. Thanks! For those who answered the call for clothes for the area's Kosovo families! The Wayne Baptist Association Annual Meeting will be held Sunday, November 7 at the Second Baptist Church in Walworth. The theme of this year's meeting is 'To Serve the Present Age.' Registration begins at 4:30 p.m. followed by a lasagna dinner at 5 p.m. Family counseling services of the Finger Lakes area has asked for help in finding emergency youth housing for young people in crisis. Currently, only two homes are available in Wayne County. If you are interested in opening your heart and home to a youth in crisis, please call 926.5501. Makayla Marie, daughter of Dan and Heidi Jansen, was born October 14 and was welcomed home by brother, Tanner. Makayla Marie weighed 8 lbs. and 8 oz. at birth. Word has been received that Gertrude Webb is now residing at the Clifton Springs nursing facility, following a fall where she sustained a broken leg. The Marion Food Pantry is looking for volunteers willing to help at the pantry every two months or so. Training is provided and they are willing to work around your schedule. HELP WANTED: To conduct Census 2000, the Syracuse Census office will be hiring hundreds of people to work in the neighborhoods where they live. The Census Bureau is now testing for temporary jobs starting in March with pay rates ranging from $9.75 to 11.25 per hour for field positions.
