Book selections of the week...

We hope you enjoy our book selections for this week as much as we did. It's so nice to spend a few minutes (or an hour) snuggling on the couch and sharing a good story. This is a great time of year to stay inside and enjoy a good book.

bookThe Baby Dances by Kathy Henderson. A beautifully illustrated book, and easy-to-read. It tells the story about a baby from birth to the day she begins to take her first steps, and then she begins to dance. A nice story, fun for children to see how they developed from a tiny baby.

That Toad Is Mine! by Barbara Shook Hazen. A funny story about two friends who share everything. It seems so easy. If there is one candy bar, they cut it in half. But a toad is a different matter. It has a happy ending.

Sometimes I Like to Be Alone by Heidi Goennel. An easy-to-read book for the late first grader and up. The story tells about how a little girl who, when she has time alone, entertains herself. A good book for giving children ideas when they are playing alone.

Monkey Do! by Allen Ahlberg. An animated, funny story about a monkey who gets the key to his cage and lets himself out. His adventures take him practically everywhere, from a kangaroo's pouch to saving a kitten from a tree.

bookBarnyard Song by Rhonda Gowler Greene. The barnyard is filled with the animals' song until they get sick - the song just isn't the same. A fun, easy-to-read book.

Over on The Farm by Christopher Gunson. A cute counting book with the sing-songy text. The illustrations are bright, bold and colorful. The text is fast moving. A fun way to learn to count.
