Congratulations to Jay Ramsey who won the 1999 Club Championship at Big Oak Golf Club Course in Geneva. This was Jay's third club championship in the past nineyears. In addition, to this bid of good luck, he also scored two holes-in-one during the year.

Now that you are no doubt thinking of holiday shopping, don't forget that the Marion Historic Association has two coverlets still for sale. The first one comes in colors of cranberry and hunter green. The 1998 Historic Scenes of Marion, has all new scenes and designs. The color is navy with cream and green accents. They are 2 and 1/2 ply, 100% cotton and are available by calling Diane Van Lare at 926.5010, or me, 926.4436. The price is $45 plus tax. We also mail coverlets for an additional charge of $3.

The 1999 Christmas ornament has arrived. This year's has a picture of the Marion Grange building colored in red. These lovely ornaments make a wonderful hostess gift and are each $10. There are still others available from former years.

Scarlet Thread Ministries is presenting 'The Roots Coffeehouse' for those in their 20's, in college, a recent college graduate, single, married, or dating. A great place to look for Christian fellowship. This is a new ministry for anyone in their 20's. November 27, on Mill Street in Sodus at 7 p.m. Cost is $4. For more information call 589.9791.

The Fall Sports Awards Night is Nov. 17 at 7 p.m. at the High School.

Family night Roller Skating Party sponsored by the Marion PTA, 7-8:30 p.m. Friday, Nov. 19.

Jay and Carol Ramsey spent a few days in Boston, recently, visiting historic sites along the Freedom Trail such as Bunker Hill, Old Ironsides (USS Constitution), the Korean War Memorial and where the Boston Tea Party was held. They also spent time with Carol's sister, Dr. Barbara Criss, who was in Boston to present her research paper at a national's nurse's convention.

NOVEMBER 13, 1924: Election returns were given to the public through the kindness of C. Roy Curtis and Bill Curtis on Tuesday evening by their Reflex Radio. This was set up on their new International truck in front of the Goossen store on Main Street and the reports could be heard distinctly.

Thanks! To all who volunteered for the successful Haunted Heyride. Be assured that your help was so appreciated and that the proceeds of this event have gone to the Finger Lakes Community Center in Clifton Springs.

Remember: The family style Roast Beef Supper at the Marion Legion Home on Witherden Road on November 12 (today). Servings are from 5-7:30 p.m.

On November 19 there will be a 30 cent a dip dinner at the same Legion Home. There will be a complete menu, 5-7:30 p.m.

Cross Country: Congratulations to Liz Boerman and Mark Hussey. Both runners are Wayne-Finger Lakes All-Stars and members of the super seven team as a result of placing in the top seven of all runners at the League Championships.

Boys soccer team defeated #1 seed Holley 1-0 and later lost to Mynderse 2-0 in CC semi-finals. Season record is 8-6-2.

Community Dinner: The Youth Group of the United Church of Marion will be giving a free community dinner on Sunday, November 21 at 1 p.m. The dinner is free and open to all Marion residents. There will be coats, jackets, blankets, hats and mittens available after the dinner for those who need them. If you have any questions or would like to donate any items (returnable cans & bottles, coats or blankets) call the church office at 926.5501. Hope to see you there!
