Missing Sodus
By Melissa White

It seems so strange to do things in the dark already! We stand out and wait for the bus in the semi-darkness. Many drive home from work in the dark, too. (I don't mind the nice warm weather but, now it's nice enough to mow the lawn, and it's difficult to see it.) It's still a bit of a shock to go to the grocery store in the light and come out into the darkness.

The Kraft Shack has more great projects to make this week. On Monday, November 22, they'll be making a Lamp Post from 6:30- 9 p.m. The Lamp Post will be painted as well as decorated. $29 includes all. Wednesday, December 1 from 6:30 - 8:30 p.m., they will be making an angel, complete with layers of lace, pearls and flowers...sounds pretty. $20 includes all. (I bet you'll see Ruth Lennox at one of these classes at least!)

Speaking of Ruth Lennox, she, her Girl Scout troop and five other groups of Scouts went to a lock-in at the Aquarium of Niagara. The Scouts had the opportunity to wander about until midnight when the lights finally went out. (Even seals have to sleep.) The next morning, they watched a seal show and talked to the trainer. When they traveled to Canada, the group went to the Falls and went on the Journey Under the Falls, then went to the Butterfly Conservatory. What a great adventure that must have been. Can you imagine how relaxing it must be to watch the sea animals swimming around? You wouldn't need to count sheep, that's for certain.

Tomorrow, ( Saturday) there will be a Community Dinner at 6 p.m. at the Sodus Point United Methodist Church, free of charge. Food will be served until they run out. The menu includes: Ham, scalloped potatoes, mixed vegetables, applesauce and dessert. Sounds good.

On December 4, there will be a Country Christmas in WillowPark In Sodus Point. Santa will arrive by Fire Truck, the Intermediate School Choir will sing seasonal songs and there will be an Ice Safety Presentation by Bill VanGee. There will be refreshments and, if the weather permits, everyone is invited to bring a sled.

Do you remember Granny Goodstory from a few years ago? Well, Granny Goodstory Productions is off to a good start. Granny will be giving free of charge Fabric Crochet Classes. For more information, and to reserve a spot, call Diane at 716.747.4768

Tomorrow, there will be a Turkey Party at the Wallington Fire Department. And Sunday (Nov. 21) will be the Wayne County Bed and Breakfast Open House from noon - 6 p.m. for more info. Call 315.331.8415

November 25 at noon, Williamson United Methodist Church will have their Thanksgiving Dinner free of charge. To make reservations, call 589.8622 or 589. 2146

At the Williamson Library, the Lap Sit Storytime is now over, but the Pre-school storytime will continue through December 8 on Wednesday mornings at l0:30 ll. If you find you really enjoyed the Monday morning storytimes, don't forget the one at the Sodus Library at l0:30 with Mrs. Combes. You can enjoy a nice, relaxing storytime then pick up some great books for your own storytime at home.

We, of course, have a book list of our own to share with you this week as well. If you find one you think your child will enjoy, just ask Robin at the Williamson Library and Carol Garland of the Sodus Library. They'll be happy to help you locate what you're looking for.

Father Dave Faraone is recuperating from his illness. Remember to keep his speedy recovery in your prayers.
