Happenings November 25, 1954: The Marion Volunteer Fire Department has launched a $3000 campaign to raise funds for the construction of a building at Firemen's Park. December 2, the National Honor Society Penny Fund and Food Drive begins benefiting the Marion Food Pantry. This runs until Dec. 21. Marion Eight Grade Supper- Monday, December 6. Remember: the Holiday "open house" at the Marion Museum on Saturday, December 4, 10 a.m.-2 p.m. The Plant Lady at 3058 Goosen Rd., in Marion, is holding her "open house" on December 2, 3, and 4 and on Saturday, December 11. The girls 8th grade Modified Basketball team travelled to Williamson, and returned with a 3-0 record winning by the score of 35-19. Christina DeFisher led the way with 11 points and Daniel DeLyser added 10. The team played a fantastic defensive game. Mary Boerman and Suzanna DeFisher lead the team with multiple rebounds.
