Canaltown Chorale offers Christmas concerts

The Canaltown Chorale will present The Joys of Christmas, on Saturday, December 11 at 7:30 p.m. in the Presbyterian Church of Lyons on Queen Street, and on Sunday, December 12 at 4 p.m. in the First United Methodist Church in Palmyra, at the corner of Church and Main.

A suggested donation of $2 per person will be accepted at the door.

The Chorale will perform Seven Joys of Christmas by Kirke Mecharn, works by major composers including Stravinsky, Rutter, Mozart, Mendelssohn and Handel and a variety of traditional Christmas carols. The concert will also include an audience sing along of familiar carols.

The Chorale will be under the direction of their new music director, Gregg S. Christiansen. John Blyth will accompany the Chorale on piano.

These concerts are made possible in part with public funds from the New York State Council of the Arts' Decentralization Program, which is administered locally by the Wayne County Council for the Arts.
