Antique Dealers offer grants to societies

The Wayne County Antique Dealers'Association has announced its Fourth Annual Historical Grant Program, to be dispensed to chartered historical societies in the county for extra financial support of worthwhile projects. All qualifying societies have been invited to submit detailed grant applications by November 1; notification of awards will be made on December 1. The grant amount of up to $1,200 may be given to one group or divided among several applicants.

In 1998, awards were given to the Walworth Historical Society, Pultneyville Historical Society, Arcadia Historical Society, the Lyons Heritage Society and the Marion Historical Society.

The Dealers' Association, which was founded in 1967, initiated the partnership program to support the historical, cultural and creative life of Wayne County. The group presents two antique shows each year and several public programs on antiques. The 21st Annual Harvest Show will be held on October 30 and 31 at the Williamson High School, Williamson.
