Newark Concert included... vacuum cleaners?

Susie Earl, Larry Ann Evans and Carol Ritter

Finger Lakes Symphony Orchestra presented a family concert yesterday at Newark High School.

Grechen SnedekerNancy Strelau conducted; student Grechen Snedeker was featured on French horn; and Jay Stetzer narrated 'Mr. Smith's Composition.'

The concert delighted children of all ages. The A Grand, Grand Overture was the finale...and it featured Susie Earl, Larry Ann Evans and Carol Ritter (see photo) on starter pistols;

and vacuum-cleaner accompanists Bob Oaks, Tim Johnson, Dave Schwind, Kevin Schoonover and Jay Stetzer.

Strelau is the conductor and string coordinator of the Penfield High School Symphony Orchestras. She had previously played violin in the Philharmonic Orchestra of Florida. She and her family reside in Penfield.
