Haven't the leaves been gorgeous this week? I've been attacked by some of those nasty germs we all try to avoid. (You know that kind of cough where people look at you like you have some horrible disease? My kids are hoping I'll get laryngitis - they forget that they can read, I can write, and how forceful exclamation points can be.) It is definitely a busy time for everyone - school pictures, picking up costumes for Halloween, carving pumpkins. How did your pumpkins turn out? Nowadays, it seems the triangle eyes and big mouth just don't cut it. You have to have the stencil and poke millions of little holes before you can carve. And I thought the other way was time consuming! Tomorrow, there will be a Halloween costume contest at the Lyons Farmers Market. Be there for judging by 9:30 a.m.
