Books we liked...

Good Night, Baby Bear by Frank Asch. Mama and Baby bear are supposed to go to hibernate for the winter but baby finds the cave just too dark. Kids and baby bears can find more reasons why they can't go to bed, including it's too dark. Mama finds an interesting night light.

bookSnow by Url Shulevitz. A fun, easy-to-read story about, yes, you guessed it ...snow. This book won a Caldecott Honor.

Katie and the Dinosaurs by James Mayhew. This is an entertaining story about a little girl's adventures when she walks through a special door at the museum. She meets some interesting creatures.

Tom and Pippo and the Bicycle by Helen Oxenbury. Tom and Pippo books are always fun to read. The young reader can read them to mom or dad at bedtime.

Bunny Bungalow by Cynthia Rylant. A cute, easy-to-read story about a rabbit family and their new home.

Off To School, Baby Duck! by Amy Hest. The author's Baby Duck books have won many awards. In this story, the large print and bold illustrations make us feel part of the story. Baby Duck is apprehensive about her first day of school but, as usual, Grandfather Duck makes her feel much better. If you like this book, try:

bookWatch Out! Big Bros Coming! by Jez Alborough. A large, oversized book that makes you laugh with the turning of each page. A small mouse tells a frog about Big Bro and how mean he is. With each character, the arm length of Big Bro grows. All the animals of the jungle are afraid of Big Bro until they see him.
