Welcome to Marion during the harvest season!
Townspeople held the First Annual Harvest Festival last Saturday. It included such events as soap making, basket weaving, stenciling and quilting at the Marion Museum. Diane Van Lare stenciled, Barbara DeWandel had a display and program on quilting, and Carolyn Adriaansen showed how to make Simple Soap. Suzanne Barber was on hand with Basket Weaving, and Joanne DeVries shared the intricacy of Hardanger Embroidery.
Downstairs, in courtyard of Mary Ellen's Restaurant, the Marion Library held a book sale. Mary Ellen's served breakfast, and Dutch lettuce and Soscyzen for lunch. And the Eastern Star Ladies sold pies and other baked goods.
If you missed all the fun this year, look for next year's harvest!
