Canaltown Days in Palmyra Canaltown Days are September 18 (10 to 7) and September 19 (10 to 4) in the Village of Palmyra. Saturday events include a Large Craft Show and Sale, Flea Market, Judged Art Show & Sale, an Antique Show & Sale, narrated Canal Walks, an Antique & Classic Car Show ( Car Show is on Saturday only 10 to 3 on Main Street). Rides will be available (for a fee) on a Horsedrawn Wagon and on the Canal Boat Fairport Lady. Local Museums will be open, including the Phelps General Store, Alling Coverlet Museum and the Palmyra Historical Museum. Many varieties of food will be available. Civil War Skirmishes will be held at the VFW located on Route 31, East of the Village. Free entertainment for your enjoyment will be offered on Saturday at various times, and include Bourbon Street Jazz, The Fiddlers of the Genesee, Cabin Fever, Palmyra-Macedon High School Select Choir and the Sweet Adelines. The Grand Parade steps off at 4 p.m. with a variety of Floats, Color Guards, Dignitarys, Cars, Music and more. We also have music by such bands as the Might St. Joe's Drum Corps, the Hamilton Firefighters Drum Corps, York Lion's Club Steel Drum Band and the Fairport Fireman's Band, to name a few. Sunday will offer a continuation of most of the activities including Crafts, Flea Market, Antique Show & Sale, a Canal Walk, a Sidewalk Art Show & sale, and rides continue to be offered for a fee by Wagon and the Fairport Lady. NSSA skirmishes will continue at the Palmyra VFW and the many Food Booths will again tempt you. Sunday offers entertainment by Beale Street Bandwagon and the Renegade Express. Tours of a few Local Homes will be available on Sunday. (Tickets may be purchased at the Information Booth). A Horsedrawn Parade steps off at 2 p.m. Free Parking for Canaltown Days Events is offered at the Wayne County Fairgrounds (also the location of the Antique Show & Sale in Floral Hall). Free Shuttle Bus service is available during the weekend between parking at the Fairgrounds and the Village Park area on Main Street. Buses are also provided for the Boat rides at Aqueduct Park and at the end of the Canal Walks back to the Village Park area. As Palmyra Canaltown Days is a family event, for the comfort and safety of all our guests, bikes, skateboards, roller blades and all pets, except seeing-eye guide dogs, are prohibited from the festival area.
