Red Cross recognition dinner

Nadine Brill and Dave FradinThe Wayne County Chapter Red Cross annual meeting and volunteer recognition was held at Newark American Legion on Sept. 22.

Men, women and children were honored for the time and effort they give to the American Red Cross. The Wayne chapter chairman is Sergei Bartishevich of Lyons; Nadine Brill is the chapter executive director - she has 20 years of service with the Red Cross. (Brill is pictured with IEC President Dave Fradin - IEC is a year-round supporter of Red Cross.)

Guest speaker was Sheryl Karch, director of the Rochester chapter office of volunteer personnel. Karch has been with Red Cross for 21 years.

Kacey Bray & Cynthia KukuvkaAlso shown in group photo are Williamson teachers and fourth-grade girls who raised $1800 to send to displaced people in Kosovo. In back are Sue Gregg and Leslie Wood; the students are Nichole Thebert and Courtney Wachter.

Sharon Tyo will be moving from Wayne County and will not be coordinating disaster relief efforts. He duties will be assumed by Jackie Dishaw on Newark. Also recognized was Vince Craft of Palmyra has volunteered for the Red Cross for 35 years.

Williamson teachers and fourth-grade girlsHonored for 25 years with Red Cross are instructors Gordon Martin and Jerry Crandall. With 10 years are Bob Barton, Kathleen Doremus, Steve Uram, Joe DeSain, Yvonne Frank.
