Canoe trip down the Ganargua

slcanoe3.jpg (23502 bytes)

This past Saturday, about 150 men, women and children took a canoe trip from Swifts Landing Park, Palmyra, to the Norsen Park in Arcadia. They explored the Ganargua River (Mud Creek), had fun, and enjoyed a picnic at Norsen Park.

Organized by Arcadia Supervisor Dom Bartucca, Palmyra Supervisor Dave Lyon and Rob Williams, the trip was to promote tourism and local parks/recreation.

Arcadia Transportation sent a bus to Norsen Park to take the adventurers back to Swifts Landing. Some of the canoes were on loan from the Boy Scout Council.

Business and community leaders made donations and helped with registration and other tasks.
