Plant sale & breakfast set for May 10

The volunteer Master Gardeners of Cornell Cooperative Extension of Wayne County are sponsoring their eighth annual Plant Sale on May 10, from 8 to noon at the Extension Office, Rt. 88 North, Newark (corner of Hydesville Road).

Sale items will include a wide selection of herbs, annuals, perennial and vegetable transplants, nursery specimens, ground covers, geraniums, and roses. There will be a Children Only table with unique Mother's Day gifts.

This will be a great opportunity for homeowners to obtain top quality plants at great prices. Master Gardeners will assist with plant selections and cultural advice. Soil pH testing will be available. (Bring an air-dried soil sample representative of your garden area and a dollar donation for the service.)

Other events of the day include a Pancake Breakfast from 7:30-11:30 a.m. This all-you-can-eat breakfast is $4.50/adults and $3.50 for children under 12. A Gift Basket Silent Auction will also be featured with beautiful, theme baskets just in time for Mother's Day gift giving. Bidding from 8 until noon. For more information call the Extension Office 331-8415.
