Looking for veterans of Sampson AFB

Can you help us locate Sampson Air Force Veterans? We have a national and local organization of people who served at Sampson Air Force Base, NY in the 1950's.

We plan to visit Sampson this September, for our 1997 reunion.

Sampson Air Force Base served the U.S. Air Force as a recruit training base during the Korean War period of 1950-1956. Recruits at Sampson were drawn from all over the Eastern United States. Sampson AFB was also home of the largest USAF Hospital. The Base located in Seneca County in the Finger Lakes of New York, is now a State Park. Over a quarter million men and women were stationed there in the five and a half years of operation.

For additional information on the Sampson Air Force Base Veterans Association or the September reunion, write to Sampson AFB Veterans Assoc., P.O. Box 299, Interlaken, NY 14847-0299
