NHS Football honors

The Newark High School football team received special honors this year. Four of its players, all seniors, were named First Team All League performers.

Jinks was named to the squad for the third straight year. He had 78 tackles with six hurries, one caused fumble and three recovered fumbles. His accomplishments this season also earned him first team All Greater Rochester honors.

Also honored was punter and extra point specialist Justin Biernbrauer. He was 13 of 15 in extra point attempts this year and averaged 36.9 yards a punt. It's his second straight year on the All League squad.

Vorie had 29 catches for 410 yards with a 14.1 yard per catch average.

Harris had 68 tackles with seven team pass breakups, four interceptions, one touchdown and six blocked kicks.
