The Martin Luther King Day student essay winner for grades 7 and 8 is David Gonzalez of Newark Middle School. He is pictured with his mother Ivette Gonzalez at St. Michael's Church, where services were held for Monday's holiday. David's teacher is Sue Van Tyle.
