"Happiness cannot follow if the things we believe in are different than the things we do."

There are still a few spaces left on the August 12 trip to Beck's Grove in Blossvale, NY for a fun-filled day of shopping, food and music. The trip will include a stop in Vienna and Weeden's mini-mall for coffee and browsing, lunch at Beck's Grove and a musical entitled "That Old Time Religion" consisting of old favorite hymns, newer inspirational songs and plenty of laughs. We leave from the Marion Fire Hall at 7:30 a.m., returning about 6 p.m. Call Isabelle Bushart at 926-7764 for a seat on the air-conditioned coach.

Stan and Isabelle Bushart have returned from a two-week trip to Texas and New Mexico, visiting with their son Kevin and his family in Melrose, NM. While there, they saw their son's ordination into the ministry, visited the Senior Center in Melrose where there were many activities, and also visited the Billy The Kid Museum as well as the train museum. Of course they enjoyed getting re-acquainted with their two granddaughters, Hannah and Hayley, as well.

Debbie and Jay Corpus and children Bobby and Mary Grace of Carmel, IN, have been visiting her aunt and uncle, Stan and Isabelle Bushart. Debbie enjoyed renewing acquaintances with some of her cousins, as well as visiting places in the area where she lived as a child. A lot of reminiscing went on in the two days they were together! The Corpus family has been camping in the Batavia area and began the homeward journey on Saturday.

July 12, 1945 - Miss Frances McKnight, of Homer, was in Marion last week to make arrangements for the day school and nursery for the children of working mothers who are living in the camp on Mill Street and South Main Street.

The Marion Historic Association will hold their meeting on Tuesday, July 15 on the front porch at the home of Diane VanLare on North Main Street (please note the change of the meeting place). Wear your painting clothes as we will be painting the distance marker following the short meeting.

I have been informed that there were bubbles at the Williamson graduation ceremony.

Scott Camp has returned home following recent surgery.

Bob and Laurie Estochen, and family are home in Marion for a short time, but will be returning to their present address near London, England.

Esther Haskins, now of Carmel, CA, is in Marion for a visit with family and friends. She is staying with her brother, Budd and Ruth Haskins of Union Street.
