Lyons Library offers computers

The Lyons Public Library now offers two computers for public use. One computer, bought as a result of a member item from Senator Michael Nozzolio, is available to the public during regular library hours.

Microsoft Works (word processing, database and spreadsheet capabilities) and several educational CD-ROM products, are loaded on the computer. Patrons are required to sign a user agreement prior to using it for the first time. Students in 4th grade to 12th grade must have a parent sign the user agreement. There is a charge of 10 cents for each page printed.

The library also has an Internet access computer available to the public. The Internet computer is open during the following hours: Monday - 7 p.m.-8:30 p.m., Tuesday - 1-4 p.m., Wednesday - 11 a.m.-2 p.m., Thursday - 1-4 p.m., 7 p.m.-8:30 p.m. and Saturday - 9:30 a.m.- 12:30 p.m.

Children age 17 and younger are required to have a parent sign a user agreement (also 10 cents for each page printed).

An "Introduction to the Internet" class will take place on Tues., August 19 at 7 p.m. and the next Introduction to Word Processing class will take place on Wednesday, August 20 at 7 p.m.
