High School music awards night

The high school music department held their first Music Awards in June. Students throughout the music department and from grades 7-12 were recognized for their accomplishments.

The program began with a short concert presented by a jazz trio from Eastman School of Music. Medals and certificates were presented to students who participated in solo competition, all-county band and chorus, area all-state festivals and conference all-state.

Special awards were presented to:

• Jr. Choir Achievement Award - Peter Stevens;
• Jr. Band Choir Director's Award - Alina Nadir;
• Helen Fleegel Spirit Award - Robert Doser;
• Left Foot Award - Tim Roegiers;
• Louis Armstrong Jazz Award - Jared White;
• National Choral Award - Jennifer Welch
• The John Phillip Sousa Award - Bill Bliek.
