Kids, teddy bears, learn about EMS

Samantha VanWinkleStudents from the Sodus Central School and the Lincoln School in Newark helped Myers and Newark-Wayne Community Hospitals celebrate National Emergency Medical Services (EMS) Week (May 18-24) at Teddy Bear Clinics held at both hospitals.

In honor of EMS week, medical staff from both hospital's emergency departments planned several activities for the students including tours of ambulances and a Mercy Flight helicopter, demonstrations with law enforcement canine units, and teddy bear clinics. At the teddy bear clinics, students were able to bring their favorite stuffed animals for a check up.
